I discussed the demo option with the publisher.Micha wrote:Looks very interesting. I think it could be a good follower for fantasie general. Will there be a demo ?
It's a risky move, because casual players may not like the game and they could write in the web that it's bad.
We really don't want a bad word of mouth from people that simply don't understand our game. Unfortunately there are a lot of people that think to be a great stategy gamer playing games where you have to be quick to click only...
Anyway, maybe we'll release a demo after few months from the first release.

A few questions please.
Will there be a editor to create scenarios and maps ?
There are only campaigns or also singleplayerscenarios.
Will the game has things in common with the ssi game " PHANTASIE GENERAL "?
Will units be able to turn to more directions or only 2 ?

Wow, a lot questions, thanksMicha wrote:A few questions please.

In this first release you'll have 4 Big Campaigns to play.
Every Campaign is very detailed, with different Units and tactics to learn and apply in battle.
For example, the first campaign is with the Human Army and the second is with the Elven Army. Elves obviously have great bonuses in the forests...
The plot develops during the campaigns, on and off the battlefields. Three of the 4 campaigns take place in the great Empire of Adamantia, invaded by the forces of Kaos, and one in mysterious and unknown lands.
Players play a Kommander at the beginning of their military career, thrown into a titanic battle that is devastating the entire continent of Eukarion. Successive events, dialogues, and plot twists are carried on through the messages that Emperor Karl and the Great Council of Mages send to the young general who will have to find out, fighting hard battles, the final objective of the Abyss.
Players won't be alone in facing this incredible war adventure. Three great Heroes of Humans, Elves, and Dwarves, will follow and assist them in their trials, challenges, victories and defeats.
The game has been FULLY voiced in English and it's been conceived to give emphasis to the characters, friends and foes, that players will face on their adventure.
About More contents like Editor, Multiplayer or a Kaos Campaign (to play with the units of the bad guys) and more: We're working on these things.
Multiplayer is very near the end of development but we have to make changes in order to have it playable by email (or PBEM).
I have to be very honest with you: This was a long development, we're a small company and we really, really, really need to release this game to lower the financial stress. Also, Slitherine and Matrix had only this date to release our game in 2013.
So, for these reasons, we did not have the time to release immediately these contents, but we're more than ready to release them very soon if you guys will like the game and Fantasy Kommander-Eukarion Wars will be a success (as we belive and hope)!
Units Directions are 6 because the game is on a hex map.
About Fantasy General, this is what you read on the official website of our game : Great turn-based strategy and RPG games such as Panzer General, Fantasy General or Pool of Radiance inspired and guided us in the development of our project. However, with “Fantasy Kommander: Eukarion Wars” we've tried to do better than our masters, adding depth to the gameplay, to the story and the setting for this genre...
Please, continue to feel free to ask me anything you want to know about this project and, if you like it, spread the voice!

Re: Fantasy Kommander: Eukarion Wars Teasing Screens
This game reminds me of one of my favorite turn-based strategy games, "Battle of Wesnoth", but with some enhanced game mechanics like Morale. It is looking good, more teasers please!
Is the "Kommander" a unit on the battlefield, not a unit but can affect the battle or is that just the player?
ps: And, yes, I signed-up for the beta so I can, hopefully, answer these questions myself.

Everything sounds really good. I think this game could be the follower of "Fantasie General".
Indeed, the game remembers a little to "Battle for wesnoth". But the turning units are a clear advance to Battle for wesnoth.
But i must confess the landscape looks a bit better in battle for wesnoth. But ok, Battle for wesnoth has a army of programmers
from all over the world.
But the landcape is ok, not a problem for me. Cant hardly wait to play this game.

Well, I think that Wesnoth is a fun, good and solid game, but it's more "casual-strategy" than Fantasy Kommander.
Our game is a true (and in the current gaming market, unique) Fantasy Wargame with an intuitive, but very deep and detailed, battle system.
Our setting is also more structured and "cultured".
The continent of Eukarion is a Fantasy version of the real medieval Europe. We can say that our setting is a fictional scenario "What if Medieval Europe had been inhabited (and invaded) by orcs, wizards and dragons?".
About "Kommander": You are the Kommander!
Why Kommander and not Commander?
The background reason is that in Adamantian Language the right way to write commander is Kommander. To be honest, it's simply because the lead designer (me) is stupid and he like K's.

To be less concise:
Units can be upgraded or sold.
You can sell your units except for heroes and some units that you will meet in specific campaigns. By selling a unit you will recover part of its value.
In order to be upgraded, a unit must have enough experience points to level up and you must have enough money to do it.
When a unit can be upgraded, a green plate will appear next to its icon.
Units gain experience points for each fight they take part in and based on the final result of the battle. That means that, as an example, an epic victory gives you more experience points than a decisive victory.
When increasing a unit's level you face two consecutive phases:
- Increasing the level of stats
- Acquisition of special abilities or spells
You can increase stats either automatically, or by manually distributing the characteristic points you have received. You must assign all stats points in order to proceed.
The acquisition of special abilities/spells follows an abilities tree, where in order to obtain the next ability/spell, you must have previous knowledge of lesser abilities/spells.
You have to think carefully about your choices in these phases because you won't be able to come back!
