Re: Southern League - Milton Keynes Round 1st December
Hi Pete,
The number so far is 23 with 22 lists in, with 21 correct. Unfortunately we've had a drop out. If there are odd numbers then I'll limit my involvement to umpiring and heckling! As soon as I can get the last list in I'll post the Runners and Riders. So far there are 13 different armies in and every book bar Trade and Treachery is represented! Yes there are a few Spanish and Germans but the breadth of the lists is fantastic.
I'll work out in the next couple of days what the mix of Terrain Types will be, based upon the armies entered and will post the mix here. It looks as if every type will be represented by at least one table with table allocation by Random draw! We may even be able to do a couple of spare tables so there may be some empties!
Hopefully I can get the R&R up later once I have got the last list - suggested punishments for lateness?!

So is this the highest number of players for a single round yet?
If not, which round had the biggest turnout?

Here it is - Sunday's Runners and Riders and a wide and diverse set of Army Lists - We really have made this "The First First World War". The only Continent not represented is America (nothing new there- they'll be arriving for the 2017 event!).
You will note that listing the entries in Army order gets Alasdair last!!
The map is attached - remember this event is at the MK Club in Stoney Stratford, NOT the Shopping Centre where Campaign is held. The address for Sat Navs is:-
MKWS, York House Youth Centre, London Road, Stony Stratford MK11 1JQ
Enjoy and I look forward to seeing you all on Sunday.

Minor correction. No. 7 (not at Boots) should read 'Tim Myall'.
(Having pioneered the Max-mounted, Alasdair goes and does us all by choosing the bonkersest army in the draw.)

Or that he is just going for a different type of mounted heavy army?

Well camels would be down at Impact and equal in Melee assuming the pistols have armour, but they're relatively cheap. Not that somebody like Alasdair would be looking at it in terms of a straight up fair fightpetedalby wrote:Maybe lancers and camels?.....quite effective against disordered pistols I believe?

While I suspect an element of truth, it is probably the best counter to massed mounted pistols and so a very good choice.alasdair2204 wrote:Actually same logic as most one day events, I have the army and its pretty and I haven't used it enough,

Re: Southern League - Milton Keynes Round 1st December
Hi Guys,,
Details for the Terrain set up on Sunday. Having gone through all the armies allowed Terrian Type options, the picture looks like this
We will put up 13 tables and then each round players will draw for a table, leaving one empty. If anyone plays on the same table twice, they can move to the empty table. The mix therefore will be
5 Agricultural
3 Hilly
3 Woodland
1 Steppe
1 Desert
As before whoever wins the Initiative can either choose side and with the other player choosing whether to move/set up 1st or second
See you Sunday

I like this approach... Pro rata the tables in line with the terrian types for the lists chosen... So I've got 1/13 chance of getting steppes... Can I claim the empty table as steppesquackstheking wrote:Hi Guys,,
