Post by madaxeman »

Hi
The catafracts look to me like RO42 Catafractarii SHC in the late imperial Roman bit.

I agree. I'm pretty sure the Cataphracts are RO42. The spearmen definitely look like Essex, but I don't know what they are.

thanks guys - I did find the cataphracts on the essex ebsite under Romans, but I;d been using them as Greeks for the last 10+ years so had assumed they were in the Greek ranges!!!

FoG requires me to own more than 2 however ....

Still cant find the spearmen - maybe the essex site has some non-accurate pictures? Or they may even be Arabs ?

Greetings

I couldn't see the photo in the Crusades section. There are similarities to the heavy Frankish spearman in the Crusader range but the photo above as a round shiled and what look like folds as of cloth under the shield edge.

Could it be a code that has been redone subsequent to the production of the figures? The pose looks quite old style.

Edward

Hi,

I believe the Infantry are from the Essex 15mm Medieval Range: Mer32 Isleman/Galloglaich, long tunic round shield, spear. There is a picture of the miniature on thier website on page 2 of the Medieval range.

I think you gentlemen are correct, that definitely looks like the figure in question.
