What about these balance issues?

Hello forum, and I hope, some developers!

I really like your game, and I am about to simply say that I prefer it over Beyond Earth, but there's still that one huge issue of espionage.

I thought someone from Slitherine had said that they would change Agents to work like how SMAC agents worked- able to be attacked and defended against by other agents?

It sucks having to build a wall of troops around a city to prevent espionage..

Regardless, I am appreciative that Slitherine continues to patch the game, it's just.. Right now I don't see it as a game I want to play as long as the game becomes a huge pain once agents are fielded..

You hit the nail on the head. This game is close....but not there yet and the espionage mechanics are the problem.

Yea I mean, we even got another update, but still nothing about these serious game design issues. I think this game could be so much better than beyond earth if it were not for these issues. It's already so close.

This issue has not been forgotten.

Spies are big on the agenda for the future.

The plan is to release a patch which is all about AI-improvemnts but doesn't have any balance-changes and then go right to doing a spy-rework and probably some other minor balance-changes aswell.
e.G. Tech-pacing, Ambassador-Faction-bonus-rebalancing, maybe trading aswell.
And of course more AI-improvements!

Unfortunately busyness of the original Dev-team is delaying the AI-patch.

The reason is:

While I pretty much took over the development, it's still in their responsibility.
In order to meet the quality standards of the publisher they cannot rely on external testing alone and thus have to find the time to personally make sure I didn't break their game.

And in order to do so, at least 2 full games have to be played.

I'll try to nag them a little more about it but I cannot promise anything.
