I think It's a quite balanced scenario this one... and as said Enric, russians can make their way to Bobruisk in time... But never should be an easy walk! ;)

Yup, i agree with avis, it is winnable as russian and the last turn is decisive. Just wondering, whether it is more difficult than agony, perhaps slightly imho.

Additional thought: Giving the russian a turn more will possibly make it too easy.

Just noticing that Hube's Pocket (which is excellent BTW) counts any unit exiting off the screen as counting toward the total for '10 trucks'. Is this a glitch?

BOKRUISK -> a3

Post by enric »

MInor changes on map.

Remove wire now works. This won't change much the game but it was an issue.
The version seems pretty balanced, probably will be the final version.

Send feedback please.

BOKRUISK Advice

Post by enric »

To all who are playing Block Busting in Bokruisk

There is a Bug in BA that removes the cover of the forest if Wire is placed in a forest tile, so infantry in forest+wire are visible like if it was in Open Ground.
I don't know if I could find a way to solve this scripting (probably not), so maybe the best solution is to don't allow deploy in woods.

I'll check other terrain types. Any suggestion or feedback are welcome.

Actually I kind of like idea of eliminating woods...makes wire more formidable. :-)
Looking forward to more scenarios with fortifications!

Stand corrected it is winnable as Russians as long as you not playing a defensive specialist ! Like most maps it depends on the opposition

BOKRUISK Advice

Post by enric »

I think I have found how to solve the Wire in Forest.
BA2 is very flexible, and near always there is a back door where you may go out.

I'll post in a few hours the version that fixes it, so maybe is better don't start new BOKRUISK games with the old version.

Enric,
I noticed when trying to download latest BOKRUISK
the Link: "Block busting in Bokruisk currrent version 1.0a3 link: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/361 ... KRUISK.lst"

When I copy and paste into BA2 link will download version 1.0a2 not version 1.0a3.

Not sure if I downloaded ahead of your update or not but as it may be broken link, just wanted to let you know.

Thanks for all the great work!

Regards,
Dcoffin

BOKRUISK goes to final

Post by enric »

I left version a4 as final.
Introduced a little variation on the Victory Conditions: if Russian gets only 4 flags it's a draw so:

Less than 4 flags: German victory
4 flags: Draw
5 flags Russian victory

I think then VC are more balanced now.

CANNES

Post by enric »

The Cannes Strongpoint is a very special scenario also based in Squad Leaders scenarios. Italy 1944. A fortified observer point probably situated on a Church tower.

Wha't is special here?
  • The defender (German) may deploy his units, and also several bunkers, wire and mines.
There are three bunkers type: Large, Small, and Wood.
Each mine have a value from 1-3 meaning the possible exploding times.
The engineer action to remove mines, removes completely the mines in the tile.
If the mine explodes when a unit enters the tile, 1 is subtracted of the mine value tile, when 0 the tile is free of mines.
  • American will lost if 5 of their squads are eliminated. Each american unit eliminates counts as one squad except tanks that count as 2.
  • German will surrender if his ranking leader fails the morale check.
Morale check is checked when a German infantry squad is eliminated. Or, at the turn starts if the flag is US controlled.
Morale check is the sum of two 6 sides dice, the leader ranking (status higher) is subtracted from the dice. <=8 means pass the morale.
So, the game could have a very early end, but not probably. At the start the ranking German leader is a level 2 so, only getting 12 or 11 with the dice roll the morale will fail.

BOKRUISK :
Hi Enric, thanks for your fantastic job.
Even the same old question : can I play in SP ( moving from multiplayer to single player folder- - it work fine-- ) ON GERMAN SIDE ?
I put even this damned question, because it's frustrating be forced helplessly , and without any advice, to play even on the same side... :x :x :x :x
can you , again, help me to found a way to play like germs? :( :( :(
Many tanks in any case... :| :|

If the scenario is a play first German in MP you will play as German in SP.
BA has no way to play both sides as solitary. (without editing near everything, very complicated, like making a new scenario).
Maybe Pip knows a trick, but I do not.

Penetration of Rostov

Post by enric »

This is a city fight scenario.
The Russian have mined some buildings (20 booby traps) they explode only once.
The tooltip on the tiles should show the buildings that are mined (only visible by the Russian player). This will help, the Russian not to be catch by his own booby traps when retreating delaying the German advance.

Penetration of Rostov seems very difficult for the German, need your opinions.
The setup is now the original Squad leader setup.
Except:
- German has a 105 and a 75 gun (here 2, 75) maybe a 74 and a mortar...
- The mines (booby traps) in the original are 20, but they should be placed on only 5 buildings (at a rate of 4).... this will also help

Any suggestion?
