Re: Civ VI announced
I always thought Civ5 was a bit of a step backwards. It hardly runs on my rig now with all the dlc and other rubbish that gets pumped into it (7 dlcs for 7 new civs, a dlc for 3 wonders. really?), so I doubt I'll get VI. If it ends up really great then I'll consider an upgrade though.

Re: Civ VI announced
I haven't played Civ since Civ 2 which I thought was very fun but very limited in scope.

I've heard they might actually be focusing a fair amount of attention on mp this time. if that's the case i'll buy it pretty early on, but not too early.

IV's very fun as well. V has enough detail to have 43 civs and equipment as little used as WWI tanks and Civil War era Ironclad Battleships.goose_2 wrote:I haven't played Civ since Civ 2 which I thought was very fun but very limited in scope.
They've come a long way since the 90s.

Re: Civ VI announced
The first game i ever bought to run on my first computer (80286) was Civ I. Back then all Sid Meier stuff like Civ, Pirates and Railroad Tycoon were great. I have played Civ V for a disgusting amount of time and i am definitely looking forward to Civ VI. Sid Meier Starships was a huge disappointment and i regret buying Beyond Earth as well.

I started with IV, went to III for a bit, sucked at it, went back to IV, got V and was disappointed and am now back on IV.
Sometimes the first one you play is the best. I've played a hell of a lot of Civ since 2008! (If I didn't have so much stuff to do at the moment I would be playing even more)

I started out Civ 2 then 3 and finally got Civ 4 few years back.
I never tried 5 as never had powerful enough computer. 3 and 4 my fav.
As for Sid's other games never tried.

I lost interest at the Civ series after IV. V was terrible and I can only imagine how bad VI is gonna be. II is the best of all times with IV being 2nd best.

Re: Civ VI announced
I'm not one of the V haters, but, looking at it, the first thing that enters into my mind was "hmm looks like they took the console version and tried to use a rolling pin to make it into a PC version." Graphically, I'm not encouraged.
But my Civ any version days might have ended 2 years ago. Lost the fire, lost the urge, just lost the ability to care. That happens to a person sometimes. Still, my first impression of VI might be accurate. It isn't impossible.
