On another point, knowing someone's army isn't enough as an army list not submitted could be re-arranged if needed to suit.
Not saying any of us guys would do that.

Noooooooo of course not, some might say i have an advantage as being list checker but i told Mr briggs what i will be using at Roll Call and jokingly he said (i Quote) oh good i might pick a ****** army then needless to say it was a army what would properly take mine out with ease . anyway he did notRobert241167 wrote:On another point, knowing someone's army isn't enough as an army list not submitted could be re-arranged if needed to suit.

You have my sympathies Andy. I'm only the list checker for the Northern Doubles, but I continually get harassed by people saying it's unfair that I know other players armies.ney63 wrote:Noooooooo of course not, some might say i have an advantage as being list checker but i told Mr briggs what i will be using at Roll Call and jokingly he said (i Quote) oh good i might pick a ****** army then needless to say it was a army what would properly take mine out with ease . anyway he did notRobert241167 wrote:On another point, knowing someone's army isn't enough as an army list not submitted could be re-arranged if needed to suit.

It's impossible to remember any army unless they are barking mad or completely different - you are checking the army, literally that. You aren't looking at composition, simply how many points (Yes, I know Bob...), are they the right troops and have they complied to the notes, minimums and maximums and any particular options for that army.
It's a thankless task that must be done. And for that - you have my thanks Andy.

Andy,
I did send my list on Friday. I will send again tonight as you seem to be missing it.
Apologies to all for holding up R&Rs. I am playing Later Seleucid, which will please those who made predictions.

Sorry folks - I've spotted the glitch that was holding up some of the email forwarding from the fogamlists@.. address onto Andy - all hopefully should be resolved now.

That's an understatement. FWIW I think you made the right call - I would've made the same call but for a different reason.
Oh - and I just found out I'll be umpiring the early period. Aided and abetted by that nice Mr Briggs.

*sigh* I wonder when they are planning to ask me? We might need to ask for a bit of extra time for our games Pete as last year was a nightmare in a couple of rounds.petedalby wrote:And i must say its been an eventful list check this time round.
