OK - let's play:
Simon LeRay-Meyer - Expect the unexpected, unless he bottles it, in which case the Cabbages are a good guess.
Paul Kitcher - I never know what Paul might pick.
Robert Medcraft Anglo Dutch or Russian - or Later Swedish or anything else from Bob's sizable collection.
Marc Roberts - Can't guess.
Stephen Stead Tuareg - definitely a possibility
Isabel Stead Later Russian is my guess
Kevin Johnson Something odd. What was I thinking?
Keith Spedding Later Swedes or Qing. I think the Sudanese is a likely option.
Peter Cross - Used Qing at Britcon, may well do so again.
David Burrows - I know so I can't say.
Alasdair Harley - Something very horsey. Or camelly. Not pedestrians.
Will Denham - I know this one as well. Alasdair isn't the only one who thought I was the list checker!
Nigel Emsen - If Colonial French * counts as "moderately sensible" it could still be anything.
Bruce Rollett - Later Louis XIV French
Martyn Brawn 1 - Can't guess.
David Parish Ming the merciless. The Ice Cream Carts of Doom are out of period so I suspect it will be something else but I can't guess what.
Lynnette Maxim - Hungarian Kuruc Rebellion
Ray Boyles - I know what he was thinking of but I don't know what he decided on
Andrew Kitcher - Later Swedish
Brendan Morrissey Bavarian
* Colonial French came second in my assessment of Armies that I've never seen used but might just come off if someone doesn't see it coming.

Well I have at least five in period armies that I have not used before in competition that could be in the mix. Two of those have never been on the table before (at the club let alone a competition).

Re: Warfare 2016 - 19/20 November
Hi all,
Today is 3 weeks to go, and the official last date for lists. I have had 5 out of the 20 entrants so far. Can I ask for the remainder to come flooding in a.s.a.p.?
Also, remind your mates who may not read this!
Thanks,
Tim

Start docking points, every day late, and as my list is in I might have a chance of not being last!

Amusingly, the only time I did dock points at Warfare (having advertised that I would do so well in advance) was in the days of DBR. Half-way through I was approached by a deputation who politely explained that, as gentlemen of the Rennaissance, "we don't do that sort of thing" and it was spoiling the event so please could I reinstate the points!madlemmey wrote:Start docking points, every day late, and as my list is in I might have a chance of not being last!

I think the last 4 players to submit lists should be forced to face Alisdair...

Can't believe you took 32 blocks of six bases of poor English Colonial muskets!!!
Re: Warfare 2016 - 19/20 November - theme?
My list is in and finally got it right.
Should never have tried to make it better!!!!

Re: Warfare 2016 - 19/20 November - theme?
My turn:
Simon LeRay-Meyer - Something awesome, that will be played in a gentlemanly manner.
Paul Kitcher - Something which will rip a hole in 70% of lists, but the other 30% will be the people he plays!
Robert Medcraft - something which will disappoint early on, but will do really well later, will be one of Paul's 30% nightmare lists, but still played in a gentlemanly manner.
Marc Roberts - Lots of foot.
Stephen Stead Something lethal, and unexpected and lethal.
Isabel Stead something potentially lethal, and will be played with a cheeky grin, as she finally gets the dice to go her way and rips me apart, again!
Kevin Johnson something we weren't expecting, only coz we are expecting that now
Keith Spedding Something that will rip Paul K apart , but chosen by fluke (see above) but played with a compassionate smile.
Peter Cross - no clue
David Burrows - No clue
Alasdair Harley - a horse, of course! But he could still win with 36 poor unarmed mobs! Still played nicely and painted superbly.
Will Denham - not saying, except it's 10mm; but a bit of detective work on facebook or the Pendraken forum would tell you the exact composition of my army!
Nigel Emsen - If Colonial English it's huge, or something silly. Or both. Either way, difficult to fight, until it collapses.
Bruce Rollett - No clue
Martyn Brawn 1 - Brawn or brains?
David Parish -something from the Parish news, Salvation Army?
Lynnette Maxim - Something shooty, but with high quality combat troops, and decent cavalry, and will rip me to pieces, in the nicest possible way.
Ray Boyles - That will be the other army Paul K doesn't want to fight! Played to much hysterical laughter, until it wins big.
Andrew Kitcher - Powerful list, whatever it is. Specially designed to destroy his brother, in the unlikely certainty that they meet!
Brendan Morrissey Something cool...

Btw: my aim is somewhere out of the bottom third and aiming for the halfway point.

Re: Warfare 2016 - 19/20 November - theme?
Izzy and I have submitted our lists.
I have accepted Alasdair's challenge and gone mounted.
Izzy is playing the first list she has designed top-to-bottom herself. It may look like other peoples but she had not seen anything else and designed it all on the coach en-route to Oxford. (Proud Father ). No offence to anybody else but I hope she kicks somebodies teeth in (while still wearing a cheeky grin!).
