Well this project appears to be developing as brilliantly as version 2.
Sad. Very Sad.

Re: Momentum
Chris I suggest you PM Terry Shaw. Gist is that there were a number of items under test; some survive, some replaced, some discarded. Terry has recently reissued the list of proposed changes for testing. It's probably not too far of a final version now.ChrisTofalos wrote:Any sign of a beta being released?

Re: Momentum
Thanks, Graham. I wait with bated breath. In the meantime, I'm trying to figure out a way to stop Paul Longmore's dreaded Swiss (played 5; won 5) in the semi-finals of our club Medieval comp next week. Elite Roman legionaries plus armoured auxiliaries would seem to be the best bet but, sadly, they're about 1300 years too early!

Re: Momentum
Fight them in terrain. He is a plus at impact but evens in melee and you don't break off and should have more dice/overlaps

Re: Momentum
Try Superior armoured billmen. Down at impact but evens in melee. Fight at 26 points per file vs Swiss who are 32 points per file. Break the Swiss up with LF so that they don't hit you in a cohesive line. As soon as they lose a base they will start to go down. And as Phil says - terrain is your friend. Free Company, 100 YW English or WotR should all work well.I'm trying to figure out a way to stop Paul Longmore's dreaded Swiss

Re: Momentum
Or Dailami if in your period. Evens at impact, and if they win the Swiss suffer from losing to impact foot.

Swiss...
Many thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, I've chosen Later Medieval German for the comp. For the 750 points I get 4 x 8 average pikemen and 2 x 6 armoured, average DS to counter around 7 x 8 superior pikemen, plus some superior HW, so am up against it in the open. I do have some OS & X-bow MF. Just need some well placed terrain for these to operate in. Wish me luck! ☺
