SJ tournament proposal

Sengoku Jidai: Shadow of the Shogun is a turn-based tactical and strategic game set during this turbulent time; primarily focusing on the Japanese Warring States period and Japanese Invasion of Korea. Other armies from East Asia are also made available to simulate different conflicts across the region.

SJ tournament proposal

Post by ahuyton »

I would be willing to run a tournament if there was interest.

For the format, it would depend on how many players we had, but I would suggest starting with three pairs of games (pre-determined). The first opponent pairing would be random and thereafter calculated using the Swiss system, ie top two players play each other etc. with the proviso that you only play another player once.

If there was just a handful, say 4 or 5 players we could alternatively do an all-play-all format.

I would suggest playing with armies of the 16th Century, medium size games, random terrain. But I'm open to other suggestions.

No prizes, but plenty of glory. And no seppuku required for the loser...

Anyone interested?

Now we are 5. Perhaps another one and we are just about viable.

Did this get off the ground? If you are still waiting / need another player I’d be open to it.

I will set it up as we seem to have a good number now. Just give me a few days until my grand-daughters depart after their summer visit.

I'm going to err on the side of sitting this one out since it is starting up on top of the FOG 2 Fall of the West Tournament and the P&S one. I don't want to be swamped with too many active challenges at once. If it was any other time I'd likely play.
