Obviously, at the beginning your softcap should be 100%. You might want to reload your game files unless it just seems to be a US Corps issue and then maybe just that. Have you seen that type of an odd softcap percentage before? Don't mean to be a jerk but I know you want a 50% prestige level and that's not what you're getting. Again, not a big deal early but I'm guessing before long you'll have so much prestige you won't know what to do with it and you'd be thinking how incredibly lame and easy US Corps is.
I have never seen the soft cap over 100% ever, so the whole thing was weird, so you have played US Corps before and did not have that happen?

Well, I have to apologize. After a quick play of the first scenario, apparently, it does start with a very high softcap (759% using the same units you used no matter what difficulty, it's over 2200 before they reset your prestige to 0 at the start) and then adjusts down as you lose strength points in the scenario. Unfortunately, the old save I had which I was comparing to yours, was with the softcap off so I only received 50 points for the fort, etc. on field marshall and I assumed 50% would be half that and the softcap wouldn't be in effect. I never considered a bonus softcap. I guess it's supposed to be a bonus for using the softcap or a way to give you a head start when you do. However, it will be interesting to see if that goes away after the training missions or if it continues for several scenarios. It does seem odd though that it would be to your benefit to use the softcap. Of course, it seems somewhat counterintuitive that better players who take fewer losses would get more prestige in these early scenarios than a not as good player who would benefit more from extra prestige. Anyway, again, I apologize. Apparently, that was a new twist for US Corps that I've never heard mentioned by anyone. So feel free to continue and it will be interesting to see how the softcap changes.

Thanks for this...I think I will replay however so I can make sure I am applying the Field Marshall difficulty level on it as well
I want a significant challenge on this one.

Thanks for watching and commenting

Sorry just saw this, I think someone on youtube had said that it was due to the custom difficulty box/tick mark. I also just saw that you replayed already... well, time difference to the US I guess... :)

Nice to see another great player sharing his gameplay on Youtube. Perhaps you should also look into Twitch streaming in the future, those two kinda go hand in hand nowadays.

I would if I understood what that is?
My buddy Lifever is going to be doing it, I think, so hopefully I can learn form him.

Haha, well you can check out a few random game streamers to see what it's all about but I guess I can explain what it is in short, many are making quite a living from it because anyone viewing can directly donate to streamers or subscribe to them for like 5$ per month to help support them. You can also stream on Youtube directly but the Twitch platform is much more popular. It's actually one of the largest growing industries in the last few years, Amazon bought Twitch for 1 billion so that says a lot on its own, so since then everyone else has been trying to get into streaming (Facebook, Youtube etc). It's popular because it's fun to watch, for me personally it replaced Netflix and watching shows/movies, I get more entertainment from watching my favorite games and streamers.

Luckily, the first scenarios are quick so not a big deal. The softcap thing is odd though and apparently this is the only DLC that does this. Maybe it is because although the US was late to the war and inexperienced, it had ample men and equipment. Stranger still is that if you select the 8 cheapest pieces of equipment to start 'Formation' with you get a starting softcap of 320% whereas if you take the 8 most expensive units you get 1048%! A bonus to offset the weak armor maybe? One would think they'd have just tweaked either the per turn prestige or that for DVs, etc. It is still counterintuitive to me that better players would be so richly rewarded (fewer losses so less loss of the softcap bonus) so early in the game whereas a lesser player is not. Kind of like the glitch that allows you to enter the Twilight Zone and use two U.S.S Boises in the same scenario later on.

I just watched both of your replays! It seems you got a bit beaten up in Scotland (although it doesn't matter there apparently)... 8)

By the way, I really like that you explain what you do and why/how while playing...

For future missions, please allow one suggestion for the start of a scenario, i.e. as I like maps/military geography, it would be really interesting (especially on bigger maps) if you could maybe start with the strategic map, explaining where you want to go and how (as you did at the end in Scotland with reviewing the battlefield, keep this) and briefly go over the map, if possible, please. Also, you may want to try one without the PzC music maybe? Thanks a lot!

Bad News

I learned how to record at 1080 definition but my bit rate is making it herky jerky

I have tried to load it up on youtube and it has been working al day and is only 20% done...all day like 18 hours...so...I am frustrated and thinking I need to go back to lower def and do what I was doing before

I am halfway done with Casablanca and am not restarting, even if I am unable to reload, as I want to play blind.

I will try to call my provider to see if we can increase our upload speed...something because this is ridiculous

Frankly, I don't mind recording at 720 definition as long as you don't go below... 1080 is nicer but 720 works as well!

Hi goose_2, just saw you uploaded Casablanca 2/3! You are progressing quickly!

FYI, since you do 1080, when I now watch at normal or at full screen (with 720 or with 1080) I get this picture, not sure if all is right with the settings of the recording (e.g. aspect ratio, etc.)?

crap..I will try and research what is going on...This broadcasting is a tough nut to crack...I thought when I uploaded this playthrough this morning that it ended up being def 360
so really bad, but when I get to work I see it did load up as 1080, so I tried doing last part this morning at 720 and I have asked my wife to publish as I am sure it is done uploading...

Let me know if this still has that crazy angle...

Any idea why there is all that dead space?

FYI, that's how the new one is looking (for me), it's titled 2/3 as well but I think it is actually 3/3?

Ok I think I have it figured out and am loading the start to mission #4...it will probably be posted tom morning...

I am limiting my videos to 20 minutes or less to try and minimize upload time, this might make for multiple posts for a single scenario, but at this point this is what I can do

#4 Djebel Abiod (1/3) looks good/correct now...

By the way, do you happen to still have the first part of Casablanca, i.e. (1/3) somewhere? :) Thanks!

Nope sorry I deleted it as it was taking way too long to load, so working with what I have using bite sized increments

I think I am finally getting the hang of things and recorded the next 4 episodes, as I get things going I will be loading them faster and keep this thing going

Thanks for the continued encouragement and interest in my gameplay
