Hey Eric, in the Dunkirk scenario - Germany West 1939-40 campaign, the "Destroy at least 3 naval transports" counter does not work. I've killed more than 3 with air and/or naval units multiple times and the counter never moves off of 0.

This is an interesting one. I believe what is happening here is related to this stratagem that Erik uses to generate evacuating troop ships:

Screenshot 2.jpg
Screenshot 2.jpg (209.53 KiB) Viewed 3965 times

It replaces a land unit with one that is "at sea" in the port of Dunkerque. The spawned unit is assigned to an AI team that has the task to "Exit the Map" in a northwesterly direction. You, of course, are tasked with intercepting and "sinking" such units before they escape.

Here's the problem, I think. A transport ship placed at sea is a transport ship. A land unit placed at sea is still a land unit even though the game assigns it a transport ship during gameplay:

Screenshot 1.jpg
Screenshot 1.jpg (122.66 KiB) Viewed 3965 times

Note in the first screen print that the unit spawned is British Infantry '40. I believe it remains thus even though the objective trigger is calling for destroying Transport Ship:

Screenshot 3.jpg
Screenshot 3.jpg (214.99 KiB) Viewed 3965 times

So this trigger may need to be rewritten somehow if I am right. You could try this, but I doubt it would work (it would probably be ignored because land units at sea automatically generate sea transport):

Screenshot 4.jpg
Screenshot 4.jpg (214.95 KiB) Viewed 3965 times

In that case, perhaps this would work better:

Screenshot 5.jpg
Screenshot 5.jpg (225.09 KiB) Viewed 3965 times
Screenshot 6.jpg
Screenshot 6.jpg (211.8 KiB) Viewed 3965 times

Just spawn the quarry as transport ships! I think that will get the job done and it's not as if you are going to have those infantry units disembark someplace; they are just exiting the map.

Hi Eric

First, thank you for your hard work, in giving us all the nice campaigns.

In Germany East 41-42, something is wrong after Vitebsk.

That map after is just named "scenario-descr" and will not load.

This is with the latest version, I have tried nuking from Vitebsk.
But it will be the same, Kharkov42 is named scenario_descr and will not start.

Thanks, guys.

Erik, this one's easy. You need to match up the folder name with the scenario name in the Campaign Editor:

Hi Erik,

Just finished your Germany West 39-40 campaign (version dated ~23rd Jan 2019) and I can honestly say it was the most fun campaign in OOB so far. Especially "Piatek" scenario was a killer and I absolutely loved it. Thanks for the dedication and hard work you put into this.

Apart form that just wanted to let you know about few minor issues I experienced during my playthrough.

DANZIG CORRIDOR NORTH
Each time I capture any supply point an event „Danzig captured” pops up (I think it does not happen at the beginning of the scenario but after I capture Danzig all of the later captured suppy points have this event)

WYSZOGROD
At some point due to my lack of attention I lost Lowicz but took it back right away, so even though I completed all of the other objectives, „defend Lowicz” objective had a question mark (although it was In my hands at the end of the battle) and battle resulted In a draw instead of major victory. I think that in similar cases in other scenarios when you lost a city and later took it back you still fullfilled mission objectives? So is this a bug or player just must have Lowicz In his hands throughout the entire battle ?

BREST- LITOWSK
After I achieved major victory I was rewarded with 17 spec points. Altough nice, it seems like a lot In comparison to other scenarios so the question is if that was the intention or is it a bug?

DENMARK
Slagelse and Avedore towns have „silver” flags as if they are designed to be secondary objectives, however none of the arrows In objective description point at them. My guess is that both of them are a part of „mobilization centres” objective but are not shown In the objective description?

TRONDHEIM
I completed all of the secondary objectives but was awarded only 2 spec points (4 spec points were the reward In total for completion of secondary objectives accordingly to objectives description).

AMIENS & DUNKERQUE
After win at Amiens „Defeat” Message popped up on the campaign screen. Nevertheless I could still play Dunkerque scenario … Similar happened on the campaign screen after Dunkerque but with „Victory” Message and once again I was still able to proceed to Reims. Probably it would be good to delete In „branches” tab In campaign editor „DEFEAT” and „VICTORY” events which are scheduled to appear Just before Dunkerque and Reims scenarios.

And one last general thing (probably more to the developers): - Is it possibile to have a funcionality to be able to fulfill secondary golas after you achieve primary objectives (like In Sandstorm DLC) as sometimes you may capture primary target relatively early but may not able to fulfill secondary objectives like destorying specific number of units etc. It would be a nice addition In order to avoid gamey approach of delaying primary objectives only to fulfill secondary ones? (to have a major victory and additional spec. points).

Looking forward to playing your other campaigns.

Erik, I lost track of what you are doing although I download each and every updated version of your campaigns. I know one or two of them are new. Which could use CSI sweeping at this time, if you feel that it would help? (Please don't say "all" because I want to triage them in order of need as it does take a good amount of time for each campaign.)

The two campaigns that have not been CSI scrutinized are 'Germany West 41-43' and 'Germany East 43'.

Will do. First things first, though:
Marcel1984pl wrote: Fri Feb 08, 2019 11:16 pm Hi Erik. . . just wanted to let you know about few minor issues I experienced during my playthrough.
Thanks, Marcel. I try to help Erik from time to time so that he can spend more time on developing great stuff for us. So:

Each time I capture any supply point an event „Danzig captured” pops up (I think it does not happen at the beginning of the scenario but after I capture Danzig all of the later captured suppy points have this event)
Erik, the reason for this is that you have this objective trigger on infinite recurrence and, each time ANY VP point on the map changes hands, and the Germans still are holding Danzig, it's going to re-evaluate and fire up that pop-up message repeatedly:

Screenshot 2.jpg
Screenshot 2.jpg (221.29 KiB) Viewed 3474 times

It's a minor matter, but if you want to address it, I would recommend either dispensing with the message or moving it to a separate trigger with only 1 frequency, like this:

I see the problem here, Erik. In the beginning of the scenario, you manually mark these "Defend Kuznocin/Lowicz" objectives as completed (Why not just check them as such on the mission grid? But, no matter.):

Screenshot 5.jpg
Screenshot 5.jpg (206.5 KiB) Viewed 3472 times

Then, if the Poles take the town, you open the objective up again:

Screenshot 7.jpg
Screenshot 7.jpg (216.07 KiB) Viewed 3472 times

So far, so good. It's this trigger that is the problem; it says, at Scenario Turn Limit, if the Germans are holding the town, then award the objective. Unfortunately, the Trigger Event should be Turn Start (for both Kuznocin and Lowicz triggers):

Screenshot 6.jpg
Screenshot 6.jpg (213.62 KiB) Viewed 3472 times

That said, I'm wondering whether the last part (Check Turn) is even necessary. If those objectives are marked completed at start, then they could remain so throughout the scenario and, when the human player achieves the other three objectives, a victory will result. Say, however, he loses one or both towns; the objective is opened up again. If the scenario ends that way, it will be a defeat. In the meantime, though, you could set the trigger to complete the objective again whenever a town is taken back (infinite frequency, as you have it) and there would be no reason to wait until the end of the scenario to evaluate it. That would also relieve the player from wondering why the objective is still open even though he has retaken the town.

Bug, I'm afraid. Each of these "Occupy" secondary objectives is supposed to award only one specialisation point, and each only once. This one here, however, (and the one above it) is set for infinite frequency. That means, when ANY VP is captured on the map, it's going to evaluate and if the Germans are holding Wegrow at that time, it's going to award another specialisation point, and another, and another . . . So instead of a maximum of 6 specialisation points earned (five for objectives and one between scenarios), I can see how you ended up with 17! That's how we grow specialisation points! Get it? Wegrow? :)

Yes, the oversight is that while the objective trigger points to Avedøre and Slagelse, the mission points to Holbæk and Fredrikssund. This has to be fixed, of course, because you are being directed to the wrong two towns to accomplish the mission. Or, perhaps Erik meant us to take all four of these secondary points in which case he needs to add Holbæk and Fredrikssund to Avedøre and Slagelse in the trigger. We'll have to wait and see.
Marcel1984pl wrote: Fri Feb 08, 2019 11:16 pm TRONDHEIM

Yes, there is supposedly one point for not losing the Admiral Hipper, one for the Lade airstrip, one for sinking two Allied cruisers, and one for connecting Trondheim to supply.

First, you get the Hipper point at the end of the scenario, if it is still alive, but realize this: It gets awarded to the Kriegsmarine, not the German army. Perhaps you overlooked it for this reason:

Screenshot 11.jpg
Screenshot 11.jpg (223.55 KiB) Viewed 3445 times

Lade could be a problem, however. This trigger is saying, "When there is a Capture VP Event, and the Germans own Lade, but only if there is NO German unit in Lade, then spawn a Construction Group and award one specialisation point." This will not fire in the turn that the Germans take Lade because a German unit will most likely end its turn in Lade. So, the trigger must wait until another Capture VP Event and, only if Lade is empty of German units, will it fire then. If you leave a German unit in Lade, it will never fire:

Screenshot 12.jpg
Screenshot 12.jpg (229.6 KiB) Viewed 3445 times

The trigger for sinking Allied Cruisers seems alright but again, the specialisation point is going to the Kriegsmarine.

Last, but by no means least, there are a couple of problems with these two Supply Oslo triggers. First, the successful supply connection trigger is missing the promised specialisation point award effect. Second, the order is wrong: Since Norway owns both Trondheim and the Road to Oslo in the beginning, as well as the hexes in between, the Supply Oslo trigger should be the one that is initially turned on and the Supply Oslo Broken should be off. When the human player connects the two (and conquers both hexes which I don't know if it means anything to list separately in the trigger but if it does, then both points must be German as well as connected), the Supply Oslo trigger should be on in order to record that fact and complete the objective. At the same time, the trigger turns itself off and activates the Supply Oslo Broken trigger, waiting for that to happen, if it will:

Screenshot 15.jpg
Screenshot 15.jpg (141.92 KiB) Viewed 3445 times

I am troubled by the infinite frequency on this trigger in that, should supply be connected, broken, and connected repeatedly, it's going to keep on awarding that specialisation point over and over as we saw earlier.

IIRC, Erik adapted this campaign from his monolithic (and rather unwieldy) German Grand Campaign. He discovered (the hard way) that you cannot easily delete branches from a campaign - it's been reported but no one knows if that flaw will ever be corrected. So I think what happened is that he meant to cut this off at Maginot and disregard the rest of the old GGC.

There is a branch at Maubeuge/Stonne with Maubeuge leading to Arras, then Calais, and Stonne leading to Wassigny, then Amiens. Both Calais and Amiens will go to either Reims for a Minor Victory or Draw, or Dunkerque for a Major Victory. Reims leads to Dijon but Dunkerque goes back to Reims. Only the fertile mind of Erik can explain this.

As I said, it all ends up in Maginot which then goes to either "Victory" or "Defeat" (which are themselves branch names). The trouble may be, and I am definitely guessing here, is that these two branches, Victory and Defeat, look like they were inserted here or took the place of two other scenarios (there are many, many more branches in this campaign but Erik removed the scenarios from all of those branches). By the events that Erik added for these Victory and Defeat, it is apparent that these are the ones intended to end the campaign but there are two other branches way at the bottom with the same names, "Victory" and "Defeat" (albeit capitalized).

It could be that either renaming two former scenario branches in the middle of the tree to be "Victory" and "Defeat" may be confusing the Campaign Editor, or the duplication of those names is doing so. In either case, it might be best to rename the middle "Victory" and "Defeat" to something else (like Branch X and Branch Y) and to use the original VICTORY and DEFEAT branches at the bottom for this purpose. Of course, that will mean reconnecting all the instances of "Defeat" in the active scenario branches above to "DEFEAT" below, and Maginot's "Victory" to "VICTORY," but it may be worth the effort.
