Division D
sunnyboy (Spanish 300-10 BC) beat phoyle3290 (Macedonians 320-261 BC) 44-17
With an unexpectedly deep stream halting the advance of the powerful Macedonian centre, attention quickly switched to both flanks. On the Spaniards left the fast charging Macedonian horse was thwarted in their attempts to force a crossing by some heroic shepherds armed with javelins and slings. As the Macedonian horse fought on, increasingly hampered by assorted shepherds and the slippery banks of the stream. The Spanish horse, having started the fight hiding behind a large rock to the rear eventually arrived and crashed into the disordered Macedonians turning the flank. On the Spanish right, weight of numbers was enough to turn the flank despite the heroic charge of the Macedonian’s close order warband.
Despite several Lazarus-like comebacks with multiple routers rallying. The Macedonian eventually lost interest in the fight and quit the battlefield.
Thanks for the game Patrick!

Division B
devoncop (Hannibal in Africa) beat IMC (Jewish 167BC) 63% to 58%
Jewish Zealots once again performed heroics and almost pulled a win round for IMC but the unwillingness of several units of Jewish rabble to do anything other than picnic at the rear helped me squeak home. Thanks for an epic match to my my opponent.

Re: First Time Control check is Friday 22nd February . . .
Today is the first Time Control check. I will shortly go through all the league tables and identify players who have not yet posted a result in each division. I will then send you a PM asking if you have matches in progress and if everything is OK. I think the overall situation is very, very good and I am hoping we will not lose anybody at this stage. We have only lost one player so far from the 70+ players who started the tournament, which is certainly the best performance so far in four seasons of the FOG2DL.

Re: First Time Control check is Friday 22nd February . . .
I have now sent out the PM's to 7 players who have not yet registered a result in a division. They are all regular players in the FOG2DL and they all have posted results in other sections already this season, so I am not expecting to lose anyone at this Time Control.

Div C
SLancaster (Macedonians 320-261 BC) defeated cromlechi (Seleucids 166-125 B) 60-26.
My main line held together and managed to push the Seleucids off the small hill and then I got some good breaks! Thanks for the game.
