North
The defense of Leningrad collapsed.
Centre
On this turn, the Axis launched a powerful attack using 4+ tanks.
In our turn, we immediately counterattacked.
There are heavy battles for the city on the ground and in the air.
Aviation was transferred to Vologda to the north. We take Vologda back.
Seriously damaged several enemy tanks and seriously damaged the artillery by attacking across the river.
Kursk
The Axis decided on a new offensive in the Tula area.

Yeah, I also tried saving a replay of the full 99 turn scenario once and when replaying it, it stopped around turn 43 or so... it just ended there, not sure why... maybe because of the file size or the total number of actions/moves, no idea why?

We start to make regular air raids.
The enemy has unrequited losses.
Black Sea
Marines approached the Kerch ferry.
And in the Black Sea, Luftwaffe forces began to fly in order to hunt for our fleet.
The ships left the zone of visibility of the enemy air force.

Turn 34
October 30, 1942
Weather: Clear and Dry
Strategic map
Norway
A cell of the Norwegian resistance came in contact with us.
The only thing they managed to send to us: 'Tirpitz in Trondheim. Damaged submarine repaired in Namos.'
After that, the connection with them broke.
The Command believes that they were forced to dissolve themselves so as not to reveal themselves to the enemy.
The Command decided to continue the operation against Tirpitz.
And if it is possible to additionally destroy the submarine in Namos.
All our people in Norway are engaged in controlling the movement of German forces off the coast of Norway.
France
A new American long-range bomber has been sent to the site of detection of the enemy's heavy cruiser.
So we will apply a new special tactic, Resistance or SOF found targets and our birds do the job of neutralizing the enemy.

Torch
The landing of American troops began on the northern coast of Africa.
We called this operation Torch. The new theater of war will have the same name.
The goal of the operation is the seizure of Tunisia and the continuation of the landing forces on Sicily and Italy.
As well as dragging off Axis forces from the Eastern Front and possibly Syria.
An enemy submarine has been spotted in Gibraltar(!)

Africa
Our immobilized troops are shot in the back.
Just agony.
Syria
The battle for Syria is lost.
Air and ground units received orders to withdraw to Iraq.
Jerusalem is encircled.
Russia
North
The enemy decided to move a little towards Petrozavodsk.
Is this from the actions of our aviation?
In Leningrad, the defense is broken and the city will fall in a couple of turns.
Very unpleasant event.

Centre
In the central sector of the front, fighting continues.
This is the most dramatic moment in the game since its beginning.
The enemy went to the left bank of the Volga River to the North of Moscow.
In the area of Tula, the enemy's forces exhausted and were encircled by our troops.
This is the first encircle of Axis troops.
By the next turn, these weakened units will be destroyed.
Centre - Air
The situation in the air is very tense.
Although the opponent has an overwhelming advantage, our aircraft continues to operate despite heavy losses.
The Axis began to retreat from Vologda.
Moscow
Troops on both sides here have the maximum concentration.
Often this plays a bad joke with them.
They are suppressed, surrounded and surrendered.
The Axis involved in this offensive 7 panzers. Against one of our T-34 on the frontline + T34 and KV-1 on the way.

Our aircraft continues to inflict annoying mosquito attacks on the enemy.
Obviously, the German Сommand did not decide to transfer fighters here considering this direction as secondary.
We use it.
Enemy units again form an anti-aircraft order.
But our aircraft easily found unprotected targets.
Black Sea
Marines began crossing the Kerch Strait, under the cover of artillery and support the forces of the fleet.
The Luftwaffe struck a surprisingly sensitive blow to the ships covered by an anti-aircraft unit. --

The situation in Syria/Egypt is impressive, I didn’t expect this…
What's your view on/analysis of the overall competitive situation, maybe even compared to your initial plans? Same would be very interesting for the other AAR as well, of course…

Torch
Began landing on the coast.
Enemy submarine blocks the passage. What gives us a lot of inconveniences.
Syria
Our troops received orders to retreat were trapped and all will be destroyed.
Balkans
Our strike aircraft is approaching the port of Patras.
But the weather is on the side of the enemy.
The presence of the battleship is not confirmed by the information from the partisans.

Kursk
Today, the opponent is very surprised our Сommand.
He was able to break through the corridor to exit the weakened encircled troops.
And they managed to escape from the encirclement.
In this weather, it was decided not to start the pursuit operation.
South
As usual calm.
Black Sea
Command decided to abort the crossing operation to the Crimea.
Troops from all over the Caucasus are transferred to Mius Front.

Loss analysis
Previous (t=30) data for comparison http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtop ... 99#p771399
Although the loss ratio is still very large, especially in tanks and fighters. The trend is to reduce the gap.
And in bombers the ratio is even good.
The change in trend is associated with the intensified battle for Moscow as well as with operations off the coast of Norway.

For a long time, neither side had a decisive advantage.
As a result, the Axis was able to concentrate its forces and capture the VP one after another.
Also played a major role Luftwaffe aircraft.
The Axis also continued to transfer reinforcements to the region of Egypt, which means that she plans further advancement in the Middle East.
Of course, based on current knowledge, it will not be difficult to develop a defense plan that will not lead to defeat in Syria.
As for the overall situation.
That the Allies do not yet have special strategic plans. There are only tactical operations.
Basically a reaction to the actions of the Axis. As well as operations that are predetermined by the scenario, for example Torch.
The main tasks now to hold Moscow.
I also wanted to summarize the results of 1942, on the 40th turn, for both sides.

Norway
Our ships found previously unknown mines in the area of Namsos.
Obviously the operation against the submarine is no longer possible.

Torch
We could not destroy the submarine in Gibraltar.
Random on the side of the Axis.
It greatly interferes with our landing operation.
Africa
Partizans became more active in Crete.
Bomber returns to Cyprus. Mission aborted. The battleship left Patras earlier.
The weather is bad and the fuel is left only on the way back.
Perhaps the Axis detected our activity and decided to relocate it.
