Order of Battle will no longer support Windows XP

Post by AlbertoC » Mon Mar 25, 2019 2:59 pm

With the ongoing support and updates planned for Order of Battle, we are looking to improve future compatibility and stability. In doing so, we will now be discontinuing support of Windows XP.

Microsoft's support for Windows XP ended on April 8th, 2014, and while we aim to support a wide variety of PC setups, continued support of Windows XP will only hamper Order of Battle's future development, while we are now fully focused on adding content and improving the existing game.

I say good riddance  . It's time to move on. As a developer programmer I'm always happy to see the discontinuation of support of some old system. Usually, there is a lot of archaic code there that can be removed too. Makes future development easier as well. RIP windows XP, you won't be missed :D .

Cheers! Hopefully no new specialisations or units get bugs as a result of this.
