Stonne

Post by braccada »

17 May 1940 - Our successful crossing of the Meuse has not gone unnoticed by the French. We are receiving reports that large armoured formations with infantry and air support are closing in on Sedan. Maintaining control of this city and it's vital crossings is of the utmost importance, so I must repel this attack! My objective is to withstand the French offensive and destroy the threat they pose. At the very least, I must secure the village Stonne to ensure no future attacks will threaten our bridgehead. I have been informed that a number of French heavy tanks have been spotted, so I have to advance cautiously and be prepared for fierce resistance!

19 May 1940 - With the rapid success of our operation so far, the French are becoming more and more disorganized. We have learned that French general Henri Giraud himself is attempting to rally the French units to form a defensive line, which presents us with opportunity to strike directly at him in his vunerable position! My objective is to scour the area for Giraud's headquarters, destroy it, occupy the city where it is located and capture the General. To ensure that that our prize can be properly... questioned, I must then escort the General back to our deployment area. Any information that can be retrieved from Giraud and the demoralizing news of his capture, outwighs any territorial gains we might acquire here. So capturing and escorting Giraud is my primary objective.

Thanks :) It's my first GC and so far the maps feel fresh and challenging. Some or actually most of the maps are masterpieces with a lot to explore and tinker with.

21 May 1940 - Our plan to divide the Allied armies is nearly complete, but one final objective remains to be accomplished. We must advance to the English Channel, seizing at least four objectives to ensure Allied lines are completely severed. Although the French forces and their allies are reeling, they are far from defeated! I should anticipate at least one serious counter attack aimed at halting our advance, so I have to advance with caution.

Dunkirk

Post by braccada »

24 May 1940 - We still have not re-established contact with High Command, but our scouts have detected the British Expeditionary Force has begun a genral evacuation of the Continent. My senior officers have convened and they believe the best way to stop the Allies is by destroying as many evacuation units as possible. Our reports have sighted numerous trains, transport ships and even destroyers being used for tis purpose, so we should consider these targets to be our primary objective. There are additional reports that the Dunkirk pocket itself has an extremly well defended perimeter and we are advised to avoid direct conflict with the forces between the canals de Furnes and Bourbourg. Lastly, only a skeletal garrion has been spotted defending Grand Fort Philippe, so if I we capture it, we will be able to turn the guns against any evacuation vessels in range. Any available naval and air units have been diverted to assist my forces to this end, but they will not arrive for at least several hours. Victory here will strand hundreds of thousands of Allied troops on the Continent and force them to surrender!

9 June 1940 - Although the France's allies have fled the continent or surrendered, the French foolishly continue to resist! They have reprganized their surviving forces and are attempting to form a new line on the Somme and Aisne rivers. I have been tasked to breach this final line of defence. The French are nearing the very end of their resrves, but they are not depleted yet, so I should still be prepared to encounter serious resistance as well as coordinated counter-attacks from the direction of Vouziers.

14 June 1940 - With the near collapse of the French army, the time has come to gran as much of France as we can before armistice can take effect. To this end my task is to advance as far south as I can, securing several objectives along the way. I have to be aware of the Swiss border though and have to respect their neutrality. There is not much time and I have to cover a significant distance, but there should only be light and sporadic resistance from the disintegrating French army and air force.

Maginot Line

Post by braccada »

21 June 1940 - One last bastion of French resistance remains standing. The forts of the Maginot Line. Despite orders to stand down from their leaders, the men of the forts refused to lay down their arms, so we must take them by force! My objective is to secure as many fortifications as possible, silencing the guns of the Maginot Line as we go. The French have abolutely no air support and little armor left, but I must not underestimate the ability of the French forts to resist our assaults. I have to be especially wary of the fortified city of Metz, as well as the guns of Faulquemont and Longuyon. To assist against these defences, several heavy rail guns have been temporarily placed under my command along with several formations of infantry auxiliaries. The Maginot Line was supposed to be the shield of France and their first line of defence, how ironic that they should be the very last to fall in this campaign!

Belgrade

Post by braccada »

6 April 1941 - My first assignments will be to secure the Balkans for our upcoming campaigns in the East. The first task is it to aid the Italian efforts in the Balkans by fording the unconditional surrender of the Yugoslav army. With the help of our Romanian allies and their staging grounds, I am expected to occupy the Yugoslavian capital of Belgrade within a mattr of day. As part of our agreement with our allies, two Romanian officers ant their cavalry units have been attached to my forces to serve as observers. If we expect our allies to be effective ones, we must teach them our Blitzkrieg methods! To this end, in addition to my task of seizing Belgrade and its surrounding objectives, I must also escort at least one of these Romanian officers to Belgrade once it has been secured.
