Div B Paulmcneil Armenians defeats Xlegione Galatians 55:29
Go figure. I suppose 2 mountain ranges, 2 lakes, 2 forests, and 2 hills may have given the Armenian archers and med inf a slight advantage. Oh OK it was almost entirely down to the terrain.

Hendricus has won Classical Antiquity Division B!
Amazingly, Hendricus has won Classical Antiquity Division B with his Roman army after XLegione lost his last match to give paulmcneil his first points of the season. It is even more remarkable given that Hendricus finished all his 9 matches after just 15 days of the tournament and he only achieved a modest total of 24 points. Well played Hendricus. He finishes above XLegione, who also has 24 points, because he has won one match more (6 v 5) and he won their fixture against each other.

After a stare off across a creek it turned into quite the fight.

Div C
jjaquemond (Kingdom Soisson) Defeats edb1815 (Arab City) 61% to 57%
An absolute brawl. Both our infantry lines refused to give, and fought a knockdown-dragout slugfest (I don't think I've seen this many Hold-until-auto-routes-from-casualties… ever). Timely cavalry reserves in the center finally punched through…barely
Great Game to my opponent.

Re: Just 2 weeks left to go now!
Thanks to everyone who has replied to my enquiries. I have a very full picture now of what is going on and it is very good. This has been the best season for me as an organiser.

Yes kudos to jjaquemond for the win. Great game. I have never seen average infantry (Arabs) and Limitani pass so many cohesion tests!jjaquemond wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2019 5:00 am Div C

Division C
edb1815 (Arab City) defeats herm (Ostrogoths) by concession. (19% v 11%).
While the numbers appear to be even, the Ostrogoth flanking maneuver left the army strung out and the more numerous Arab cavalry with infantry support took advantage of it. On the last turn played I had caught 4 lancer cavalry units in the flank. Infantry units were in position to charge the remaining Ostrogoth massed archer unit. It certainly was looking grim and herm surrendered. Having said that it is often hard to call the final outcome in the early stages of a game.
Cheers to herm - Thanks for the game.
