That seems to be normalSpartacus wrote:Only bummer is Amazon sent me a mail saying it was held up for 2 weeks.
As for price, Slitherine sell at RRP, Amazon buy lots, get lots of discount and sell with a low margin.
It makes it very difficult for specialist shops like games shops to compete. I know of several retailers who don't sell FoG books because it costs them more to buy them from the distributors than Amazon sell them for
This has happened for every FoG release to date, and on each occasion the release has in fact shipped right on time. There are numerous earlier threads on this subject, if you are interested in searching for them. My advise would be to ignore the 'delay' notices and expect that your supplement will be shipped within a day or two of the announced release date.Spartacus wrote:Only bummer is Amazon sent me a mail saying it was held up for 2 weeks.
Cheers,
Scott
It is not our policy to undercut the retailers who support and sell our proucts, their entire livelihood is derived from their sales and to sell to them then undercur their prices is not on.
Of course we have stock of the books but for the reason mentioned our policy is to sell only at the RRP
Besyt Regards

I figure a few extra days waiting isn't going to kill me, then again, I don't have a ready DBM army to convert--it would all be fresh lead, and I have several armies already in the paint que. Still, I am looking forward to getting my hands on my copy from Amazon U.S. later next week or early the following

Or the lists - mine is awaiting collection at the post office
Not that I haven't a copy of the original document with me anyway

Its not just Amazon - there are plenty of other retailers selling via Amazon who also undercut Amazon themselves, even by a few quid! All the UK offers are here.

True but when you add in the universal £2.75 postage and packing they are more expensive than Amazon if you buy a few other books to take you up to the free shipping level.madaxeman wrote:Its not just Amazon - there are plenty of other retailers selling via Amazon who also undercut Amazon themselves, even by a few quid! I bought a book for 1p plus £2.75 P&P from one of the second hand sellers on Amazon the other week. It was in perfectly acceptable condition and even with postage waay cheaper than a new copy.
Amazon's free postage cuts in at only £5 nowadays so wolves from the sea is £9.09 post free......hammy wrote:True but when you add in the universal £2.75 postage and packing they are more expensive than Amazon if you buy a few other books to take you up to the free shipping level.madaxeman wrote:Its not just Amazon - there are plenty of other retailers selling via Amazon who also undercut Amazon themselves, even by a few quid! PG; May contain swearing Russian roulette bloody violence terror medical and regular gore distress horror (including guinea pigs) fantasy horror with scenes where characters are endangered by food and hard to categorise situations involving penguins.
Same. They provide a room with tables to play FoG in the expectation of attracting business, and I don't wish to disappoint them (particularly considering that FoG historical mini players are not big retail spenders compared with players of other games).hazelbark wrote:I make a point of trying to buy form my local shop. The savings at amazon is not worth not having the local store.
