I'm curious as to why someone with a 0.00 rating is playing in division A - i'm not that familiar with the whos who of the leagues - is this perhaps one of the design team?
one of the all time greats of FOG 1... and he just won the last auto tourney, so i guess he can play FOG 2.

i'm already quaking in my boots.... early betting vegas odds makers are calling him the odds on favorite (especially with first pick of armies) :(

be warned and be afraid...

Pete,

I take it you don't get detailed combat reports in MP? Just a casualty figure?
You do if you turn them on in settings.

Re: Tournament diary and news . . .

Post by stockwellpete » Tue May 28, 2019 9:05 am

The army allocations for Classical Antiquity, Late Antiquity and Biblical have now been posted on the forum. Please note that some armies may have their start and end dates adjusted by the new DLC that is being released on Thursday. I will check this on Friday and if there is anyone with an army that has been affected I will confirm the precise dates of the army they are to use by PM. In some circumstances this may mean the player choosing between earlier or later armies.

i'm curious about the allocation process...it seems i must have a misunderstanding, as i figured that my first choice was a shoe in as no one else chose it, and my 3rd as well. But i ended up with my 4th. So was only one army of each nationality allowed (regardless of the multiple versions for different years) or something else? public posting here just so we can clarify for next time.

i guess i can take my lumps with the hephthalites...but anyone that beats me there's an astrick by your victory!

Only one army list per nation is allowed in each division, as Ptolemaic, Arab and Roman lists were all selected before you you were left with your 4th selection.

funny i've been in the FDL for 6 yrs and always thought if it was a separate list in the "armies allowed" that it could be chosen without being impacted by others choices. guess i've been asleep. that really limits it, and makes it much more gamey...i could have picked an army to mess with my opponents, so they didn't get their selection and i get mine but was thinking i was out of everyone's way...well with this army i should be guaranteed an earlier selection next season  i tried the kushans a couple seasons ago as an experiment...they were fun but really struggled with HF based armies. I'll try to remember to pack extra arrows and horse fodder

Yes, this is the right answer. It does mean that players who are likely to receive their army towards the end of the army allocation process do need to think hard about their 3rd and 4th selections. In that Late Antiquity division the four highest rated players got either their third or fourth choice. This was a bit out of the ordinary, to be honest, as in both the C and D divisions in Late Antiquity 18 out of 20 players got their first choice and the other 2 got their second choice.

Themed Event arrange your matches here . . .

Post by stockwellpete » Wed May 29, 2019 2:45 pm

Instructions

Matches in this section are played to a tighter schedule and must be prioritised above matches from other sections. Please start all your group stage matches by Sunday 9th June and finish them by Friday 28th June . The knock-out matches will be allowed 14 days for completion. Unfinished matches will be subject to adjudication.

The group stage matches are single battles, while the knockout stage of the tournament will use paired games ("mirror matches") to decide who progresses to the next round.

Either player may set up the challenge in this section. Remember to PM your opponent as well as placing the challenge and password in this thread.

The final % scores for each player are taken from the in-battle display in the top left-hand corner of the screen and not the Final Losses screen that appears after the battle has ended where losses are adjusted for wounded and deserted troops.

Reporting the result of a match is the responsibility of the winning player. However, if you are the loser in a match and notice that the result has not been posted within 24 hours please post the result yourself. This helps to keep the league tables up to date.

Where players finish with the same number of points at the end of the group stage, the points aggregate from the matches between those player will be used to decide the final places in the group table. If this does not separate the players then lots will be drawn to determine which player(s) proceed to the next stage of the competition.

Please be sure to familiarise yourself with both the Rules of Competition and the Players' Guide.

Early Middle Ages

Instructions

Either player may set up the challenge in this section. Remember to PM your opponent as well as placing the challenge and password in this thread.

For matches in this section players will select "Open Battle" and will field a "Medium" army and choose a "Medium" battlefield unless otherwise directed. Players may choose historical allies and are free to customise their army before each battle so "Default" is the correct Force Selection option. Terrain will always be "Pot Luck" unless otherwise specified. There are no exceptions to this standard set-up for a match. If a match is set-up incorrectly for any reason then it must be re-started as soon as possible.

Players will need to have the base game, the Legions Triumphant DLC, the Age of Belisarius DLC and the Wolves at the Gate DLC to enter this section of the tournament.

Please be sure to familiarise yourself with both the Rules of Competition and the Players' Guide.

For the Biblical Tournament, some Mods are required to participate. (The TT Mods) Would it be OK to just leave those in the Games and Multiplayer folders and play the other Tournaments or would it be necessary to remove/replace these Mods for every Turn?
You don't have to remove or replace your mods. Biblical uses the MP TT mod 1.5.3 and no other mods are used in the tournament.
