Panzer Corps 2 Community Contest - On the hunt for photos suitable for HERO PORTRAITS - UPDATE on last page
Note: we are continuing on a new thread, with a slightly different request:
http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtop ... 64&t=92641
Development continues on Panzer Corps 2, and we are at a stage when we need to start creating PORTRAITS for HEROES.
We thought it would be a good moment to engage the community in a little contest.
If you'd like to take part, you can scout the net for historical images and pictures of soldiers and officers from World War 2. Some of them will be included in the game (provided they are stock images with no copyright attached, and that they fit our requisites), and will be displayed as unit hero portraits in Panzer Corps 2! You can also post pictures you actually own, of friends or family members who served.
Important: please make sure to state where you got the image from, so we can double check if we can legally make use of it.
We are looking for images of infantry and airforce soldiers and officers ( but not famous faces) for the following armies:
Germany
United Kingdom
Soviet Union
United States of America
Italy
Hungary
Romania
German are easy to find. Its all the other nations that are proving difficult and we would really appreciate your help.
You can post your findings in this thread, and then the team will select them.
And now, on to the prize: anyone who posts pics which will be selected for the game will of course win eternal glory plus certain access to the Panzer Corps 2 Beta!
Let the hunt begin!

No it looks like China is a mistake and was left in a spreadsheet when ironing out first release contents.calmhatchery wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2019 1:42 pm if is it China so what about the Japanese heroes? are they needed?
So no, no need for Chinese or Japanese yet.
Thanks.

Re: Panzer Corps 2 Community Contest - On the hunt for historical images
I think that the jury should write that it should be pictures of anonymous soldiers ...

So given the above all I can do is guess at them.

Re: Panzer Corps 2 Community Contest - On the hunt for historical images
Yes, but I've already been through the National Archives stuff thats available on the web .. and its not much use. Its mostly historically known figures .. politicians, generals, or well used photographs. As mentioned, we're looking for images suitable for hero portraits. So .. portrait shots, general body shots etc. of usually anonymous people. Hitler, Rommel, Mussolini absolutely can not be used.Lobster wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2019 2:54 pm "Copyright. So .. from the first post .. the very first picture of the Russian .. perfect .. so long as we have a source.
The Hungarian group - acceptable because its possible to separate or make some of them the focus and because Hungarians are so hard to find.
The German group . . yeah probably two usable people.
Thanks. And I don't mean to sound ungrateful but we have quite specific needs as outlined and I don't want you guys wasting your time only to be dissapointed..
