Division B

devoncop (Antigonids) drew with SpeedyCM (Spanish 300BC) 31% to 38%

A long delaying action by the Antigonid skirmishers before a rush to the rear by the phalanxes and medium infantry bought just enough time to run down the clock before the Spanish greater numbers managed to overwhelm the Antigonids. A Couple more turns and I would have got massacred like I deserved :-)

Thanks to me opponent for a very different kind of fight :) ........... but a very tense one at the end.

Division A

Sunnyboy (Phoenician 681-539 BC) beat harveylh (Achaemenid Persians 545-481 BC) 62-58

An absolute blood bath every time the Phoenicians thought they might have an advantage the Persian would shut it down. Game could easily have gone either way.

Thanks for the game Harvey, well played!

Weekly round-up
A big win for harveylh (Ptolemaic) against pantherboy (Indian) this week means he now shares top position in Division A with ruskicanuk (Indo-Greek). The division is wide open though with both dkalenda (Lysimachid) and klayeckles (Achaemenid Persians) still retaining unbeaten records. Ulysisgrunt (Jewish) is relegated. In Division B, deve (Samnite) has stretched his lead to 8 points. He is being pursued by rexhurley (Numidian/Moorish) and Nijis (Seleucid). MorkinThe Free (Pyrrhic) looks almost certain to win Division C after managing a draw in his last match. The only player who can prevent him from doing so is Breogan (Greek Mercenary) who has posted a solitary defeat so far and therefore needs to win his remaining 8 matches with maximum points. Tresantes (Pyrrhic) is top of Division D this week after another victory while second-placed Barrold713 (Pergamene) slipped up against SawyerK (Seleucid). phoyle3290 (Carthaginian) is third with 4 straight wins.

Unbeaten runs of 3 matches or more
dkalenda (Division A) 3 matches
harveylh (Division A) 3 matches
ruskicanuk (Division A) 4 matches
deve (Division B) 5 matches
Geffalrus (Division C) 5 matches
MorkinTheFree (Division C) 9 matches and finished
General Shapur (Division D) 3 matches
phoyle3290 (Division D) 4 matches
Tresantes (Division D) 4 matches

Match completion rate (45 matches in total to be played in each division)
Division A - 26 out of 45 matches completed :D
Division B - 25 out of 45 matches completed :D
Division C - 23 out of 45 matches completed :D
Division D - 27 out of 45 matches completed :D

These are excellent match completion rates.

Player of the week
harveylh (Division A) with 2 wins this week, including an impressive victory against pantherboy. :D

Weekly round-up
ruskicanuk (Romano-British) has taken a firm grip on proceedings in Division A with 5 straight wins. The most likely challenger looks to be nyczar (Scots-Irish) who has 3 wins from 4 starts. Things are much closer in Division B where devoncop (Jewish Revolt) is top after finishing all his matches with 21 points. Morbio (Ptolemaic) needs a 4 pointer in his last match against Triarii (Kingdom of Soissons) to overtake him, but Geffalrus (Palmyran) and Cunningcairn (Indian) could still challenge for the top position if they can put together late winning runs. Two big wins for sunnyboy (Ostrogoth) against fellow promotion seekers cromlechi (Scots-Irish) and Trogilus (Dacian) in Division C has left him as clear favourite to win automatic promotion. cromlechi and Trogilus have yet to play each other in a match that will probably decide second place. General Shapur (Kingdom of Soissons) completed a whitewash in Division D this week with his ninth straight win and lydianed (Gepid) looks well-placed to finish second with 5 wins from 6 starts.

Unbeaten runs of 3 matches or more
ruskicanuk (Division A) 5 matches
devoncop (Division B) 7 matches and finished
Morbio (Division B) 6 matches
sunnyboy (Division C) 6 matches
General Shapur (Division D) 9 matches and finished

Match completion rate (45 matches in total to be played in each division)
Division A - 22 out of 45 matches completed :D
Division B - 27 out of 45 matches completed :D
Division C - 33 out of 45 matches completed :D
Division D - 28 out of 45 matches completed :D

These are excellent match completion rates.

Player of the week
sunnyboy (Division C) with 2 wins against promotion rivals this week. :D

Weekly round-up
Snugglebunnies (Abbasid) is top of Division A after racing through 8 of his fixtures and achieving 5 wins. He is being pursued by ruskicanuk (Breton) and CheAhn Byzantine) at the moment. In Division B it is hard to see who is going to stop Sennacherib (Andalusian) who now has 6 wins and a draw from his 7 starts. Mathematically, SpeedyCM (Rus) is best placed to develop a challenge but he is likely to need to win his remaining 6 matches to challenge for the top position. Karvon (Bedouin) sits on top of Division C with 5 wins from 6 starts but deve (Dailami) is expected to make a strong challenge after winning his opening match.

Unbeaten runs of 3 matches or more
Snugglebunnies (Division A) 4 matches
Sennacherib (Division B) 7 matches

Match completion rate (45 matches in total to be played in each division)
Division A - 13 out of 45 matches completed
Division B - 29 out of 45 matches completed :D
Division C - 24 out of 45 matches completed :D

Division A is a bit slow, but Division B and C have excellent match completion rates.

Player of the week
Snugglebunnies (Division A) who has posted 3 wins and a draw this week. :D

Weekly round-up
Another 2 wins for Cunningcairn (Egyptian) keeps him on top of Division A. ianiow (of Arabia) suffered his first defeat this week, but he is likely to be one of the main challengers for the title along with pantherboy (Kyrenean Greek) who has won his first match. There is an exciting 3-way race for automatic promotion in Division B where devoncop (Arkanian) is narrowly ahead of deve (Achaemenid Persians) and desertedfox (Egyptians).

Unbeaten runs of 3 matches or more
Cunningcairn (Division A) 5 matches
desertedfox (Division B) 5 matches
deve (Division B) 4 matches
devoncop (Division B) 6 matches

Match completion rate (45 matches in total to be played in each division)
Division A - 23 out of 45 matches completed :D
Division B - 24 out of 45 matches completed :D

These are very good match completion rates.

Player of the week
deve (Division B) with 2 wins this week. :D
