Disappointed in the lack of imaginations.
What's the bye plan ,although Alasdair is trying to poach us for ReG,not tempted

I shall refrain from commenting about the Roman lack of imagination....
I am assuming the correct spelling of these players is as follows:
Martyn Simpson
Steve Murton
Micky Woods
Not sorted out the exact details for the bye - but will be a randomised first round draw. The player receiving the bye will get 30 points (or something like that once has been agreed)

Young Dave is correct.
As you know devizes is being set up by a few of us, it's not a Wessex event and we are doing bits of it. I am clarifying if we need to bring a cloth each to fight on.
The collegiate approach to the devizes tournament has been thrown somewhat by having a bye to deal with.
As a consequence, despite efforts to bring in a eighteenth player we are stuck with the bye. Dave Ruddock is leading on the scoring and draw elements.
We have decided the draw will be done on purely random basis by computer. The person selected will get thirty points as the score for that round and will keep those points, thus ensuring that player is very much in the running at the start of round two. From then on it is the lowest scored player at that time, no player can get more than one bye.
we can only apologise in advance to the poor lad or lass the computer chooses, but we have not been able to think of a fairer or indeed equally unfair way of doing it.
The new rennaisance meg style rules are also short and the bye player may wish to play a game of reconnaissance meg , but this is a matter for the individual. Obviously if we get an extra from wherever, we can adjust.
Hopefully the above make sense , I appreciate its far from ideal and that someone will be annoyed if they get the first round draw. But it is the only fair way.

From what I've seen in the past cloths are not provided,so we can bring 2 6x4 's ,possibly 1 more if I can find it and 1 60 x 36 ,all will need taping, that's the penalty for strange table sizes

I have just had an 11th player for FOG R. If anyone in the FOG AM competition would like to transfer to the FOG R competition or if the Bye player each turn wants a game I can supply an army (it will be the same as mine TYW French).

So, 8 Romans covering a timespan of over 400 years, 7 Plantagenets covering 200. Go back to bed Ruddock

Just to let you know that Ben jones has had to pull out of the FOG R competition so we are back to even numbers unless something happens overnight.
In any case I understand your bye player is going to play ReG. Good luck to that.
I hope that the FOG AM players have a great weekend and that my figures yet again win or come second.
