Re: Biblical: winners post your results here . . .
Weekly round-up
Two more wins for pantherboy (Kyrenean Greek) sees him move up to fourth just 4 points behind the current leader. The title looks to be his unless ianiow (Arab) or harveylh (Achaemenid Persian), second and third-placed respectively, can defeat him in their remaining matches. At the bottom nyczar (Lydian) came to life this week with a win and a draw and now needs 4 points from his last 2 matches (against pantherboy and XLegione (Carthaginian)) to move above Morbio (Assyrian) at the bottom of the table. In Division B, a victory for Ulysisgrunt (Cypriot) means that uneducated (Hebrew) finishes with the wooden spoon.
Unbeaten runs of 3 matches or more
pantherboy (Division A) 5 matches
Match completion rate (45 matches in total to be played in each division)
Division A - 39 out of 45 matches completed
Division B - 44 out of 45 matches completed
Division A is a bit slow while Division B is excellent.
Player of the week
pantherboy (Division A) with 2 wins this week.

Re: The poll on player army choices is now closed . . . 23-20 in favour of no change
I have been thinking about this issue a bit more. What I have decided is that I am not going to poll this issue again as it is clear that we are split roughly 50/50 on the issue, but I will introduce the restriction on choosing the same army in consecutive seasons from Season 9 onwards. So, for forthcoming seasons 6, 7 and 8 you will still be able to choose the same army as last time, but from Season 9 onwards you will not. Hopefully, this will satisfy both sides in the discussion (or at least irritate them both equally! )stockwellpete wrote: ↑Sun Jul 21, 2019 10:12 am This poll is now closed. I am a bit disappointed that this didn't pass as I really would have liked to freshen things up a bit. It was very close in the end so I may re-poll at some point in the future, maybe towards the end of Season 7.
Btw, I am planning that there will be 12 seasons of the FOG2DL overall. So that is for the whole of 2020 and 2021. After that, we'll have to see as we may have all the DLC's by then and player numbers may start to diminish.

Good call on still implementing the idea as well as postponing it. I think those who voted against this idea overestimated the effects this will actually have. It's only one of your 4 choices that gets taken away from you, so if you like a particular style of army, you can just pick a similar army instead. I may be a little bias though, since I am yet to get my first choice in the Classical sectionstockwellpete wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2019 8:42 amI have been thinking about this issue a bit more. klayeckles(persian) vs pantherboy (indians) 46 to 15.
persians hid in the woods to avoid arrow storms as long as possible, so they were not too damaged before the armies met...so the indian archers melted before the better persian infantry.

harveylh - Arab City 300-633 AD defeats pantherboy - Indian 320-545 AD, 60-46.
A good and hard-fought game. The Indian elephants supported by bow and artillery smashed the Arab infantry center. The Arab lancers beat the Indian cavalry after a long hard battle and finally arrived in time to rout the Indian artillery and bow in the center.
