Triarii (Dialami) vs Panther boy (Indian) 0-0
The Indians occupied a great big steep hill the Dialami occupied a great big wood. Er that is it.
Apart from inconclusive rushing about by LC after 20 moves we all went home.

harveylh - Arab (Umayyad) 685-750 AD (no allies) draws with pantherboy - Indian (Hindu North) 600-1049 AD (Indian (Rajput) 650-1049 AD allies), 43-35.
As the Arab center keeping their flanks secure approached the Hindu center, the Hindu MI bow and close fighters turned around and marched to rough terrain and woods near the board edge. Unfortunately, the Arab HI could not catch them and the Arab cavalry had not finished winning their flank battle so there was no effective pursuit.

Division B
Geffalrus (Polish and Vikings) NARROWLY defeats youngr (Persians) 63-51. A titanic finish to this season of Early Med for me. Good game all around.
This battle was a map reroll after the first map featured swamps, rough ground, forest, steep slopes, and two armies that wanted nothing to do with all that. Second map was a little better, but the terrain still made things annoying from time to time. After taking several arrow volleys to the face, the Persians backpedaled rather than deal with Viking shieldwalls backed by massed archers on a hill. Eager for a victory, the Polish army followed them into what nearly became a disaster. Unable to breakthrough the surprisingly sturdy Levy Infantry of the Persians, the Vikings came to grief at the tusks of some rather angry war elephants. The Persian cavalry charged through the gaps to reach the archers behind, but not before some heroic Polish archers banded together to flank a pursuing elephant and rout it from the field (?!?!?!?). Despite these mistakes, the Polish army was able rout just slightly more of the Persian army than the Sassanids did in return.
After that bloodbath, it's time for a gorram nap.

Antiquity D with Bomber23 - Night fell, but I had to leave the battlefield. I think that is a draw and asked Bomber23 to report the result as I wasn't sure about it.
(0-0) This will be corrected in the final tables (stockwellpete)

Triarii (Carthage in Africa) beats XLegione (Seleucid) 65-49.
Very hard fought epic across the whole map an excellent game.
Very tough luck on XLegione as the 60% mark was only passed on the very last turn after a fortuitous Carthagininan combat result and pursuit.

harveylh -Achaemenid Persian 545-481 BC defeats pantherboy - Kyrenean Greek 630-461 BC, 47-20.
A lot of maneuvering as the Persians tried to use the hills and rough terrain and the Greeks wanting to fight in the open. The battle lines on both sides rotated 90 degrees during the course of the game. Persians managed to break enough units on the last turn before nightfall to win the game.

Triarii (kingdom of Soissons) vs Geffairus (Palmyra) 42-34 as night falls .. a draw.
A great game very cagey to begin with. Then, after backwards and forwards from the Romans to avoid the worst of an arrow storm, the Cataphracts advanced - after a hard fight most Roman Limitati and all the Palmyran Cataphracts had headed home. No time left for any resolution but the Palmyran archers and MI were well installed in a natural fortress of rough ground and the Romans (me) had no troops and no ideas on how to break in any way.
A really great, enjoyable, game. Thanks to Geffairus.
