Silk Rd. Questions

Fellow Grognards,

Newbie to game - already love it. I've noticed some modules, particularly Silk Rd. Skirmishes. Also, I've noticed Silk Rd. Campaigns.

1) Silk Rd. Skirmishes Module - what does this do? Is this module one that I should commonly use? Other thoughts?

2) Silk Rd. Campaigns - thoughts?

3) Mercenaries and Allies mod - what is this?

Silk Rd. Skirmishes - for generating a custom battle
Silk Rd. Campaigns - for generating a custom campaign

Mercenaries and Allies mod:
"This mod allows you to use the allied troops in custom battles that you normally can only use in campaigns. It also improves the quality of many mercenaries on the theory that mercenaries were often picked men or that they were employed for their special skills in combat. Hellenistic armies, Thracians and Carthaginians benefit mostly. Also as light horse with javelins may be better represented as protected cavaly in some cases that option has been added. Thracian light horse seems to have had a preference for hand-to-hand combat so some have been given swords. Numidian light horse have been made superior."
