Re: Erik's Multiplayer scenarios
Hiya Erik,
Unless we've missed something Anzio will always be a draw (assuming a level of playing competence).
We are struggling to work out how the Germans can win with the British Navy ever present. As the German player I can push back the Allies but as soon as any unit gets into range of the British navy it is blown to bits and mopped up by ground troops. So my chances of retaking the Primary objectives that were lost in the early turns (and of course impossible to hold at that point) are nil. Best I can do is just hold the line a few hexes from the coast and sit there. So it will always be a draw.
Can I suggest either the Navy gradually goes away (lack of fuel etc....) or the Germans get tactical bombers to attempt to reduce the influence of the navy. Otherwise neither player will win which is a shame as this one looked to be a vast improvement on the previous version.

Re: Erik's Multiplayer scenarios
Anzio will be replaced by a completly new scenario, 2v1 'Operation Shingle'.
It is being play-tested by my trusty MP-buddies as we speak.

Thanks Erik!

Papua-New Guinea
Erik, please, make ground and air units core ones. It´s too harsh for both sides with non-core units. Especially for Allies, they lose airfighters in dogfights.

Re: Erik's Multiplayer scenarios
Erik,
Our group have been talking about this a lot as the 4 of us are working our way through many of the multiplayer scenarios.
Are you testers tabletop gamers with interest in military history too or just PC gamers?
I ask as we are finding these games either quite one sided or going to be a draw and we wonder if is to do with our style of play throwing up unexpected results. For example, you expressed surprise (or implied at least) that we'd achieved a major allied victory in Market Garden.
I suppose the other question is whether the scenarios aim to be historically correct or a balanced game (which can be achieved through balancing the objectives of course)?
And while I'm here, any chance we can help play test the Anzio replacement as we are turn 38 and it is most definitely a draw.
