Any mooar new on this?

Headquarters World War II is a fast-paced turn-based strategy game where your battlefield tactics are as important as your army management skills. Experience both sides of the war, battling in Europe as the USA, the UK, or Germany.

Any mooar new on this?

Post by gammalget »

Hi,

Any more news on this title?
This (from the first looks of it) seems really pleasant!

Hey.
I've played 1000's of hours of both the Starni Games titles (Strategic Mind games) and Battle Academy 1 and 2.
I can guess with a degree of confidence that you probably aren't far wrong with your observation, except for at least 3 major differences if a history of playing Starni games is any guide -

Firstly graphics. Headquarters will be pretty amazing to look at and the zoom options will draw you right into the battle.

Secondly RPG aspects. All the vehicles have crews and my guess is that individual vehicles, maybe even crews gain skills and equipment with experience.

Thirdly, and this is a guess based on other Starni titles and the name of the game itself, there will be a Theatre Commander that you control who oversees the battles and provides skills, buffs and tactics that he acquires as the game proceeds. He (you) also likely purchases and upgrades units between maps. It may also be the case that there is a deep and evolving story narrative between main characters between scenarios as the war progresses.

Starni games have a lot of detail and all of the attributes I touch on here are already present in there previous titles. Headquarters gives Starni a platform to reboot with all of their best ideas and learning and avoid previous mistakes. Arguably their biggest mistake was that their titles were too niche and not commercial successes. Headquarters is surely intended to be a commercial success and I hope it stays true to their historically detailed approach and immersive character narrative and remains a tough challenge.

HQWW2 looks very much like 'The Troop' which is currently in early access on Steam, so I'm wondering if they're both the same game but with a name change.

These are 2 different games, however similar.
'The Troop' is a British production

I hope that developers from Ukraine are healthy and safe...

Hello guys!
Thank you very much for your support!
Sorry for not answering earlier questions - got a bit busy this hot spring...
Our team is alive and well, and we have kept working on the project - so you should not worry about that.
If you have any questions about the game - feel free to ask, I will be monitoring this forum more closely from now on.
Make sure to check out Dev log #1 if you want to learn a bit more about the key mechanics of the game.
Have a good day everyone!
