Important - Axis Operations 1943 and delay with localizations

Post by AlbertoC »

Hi everyone,

we apologize but we haven't been able to finish localizations for Axis Operations 1943 in time for release. We plan to release them with a patch within the next two weeks. We'll keep you updated on how the situation develops.

Once again, we apologize for the inconvenience.

Could someone from the team please comment on when the translation of the 1943 DLC will be released?

Well there are 3 options:

1. Slitherine weeks are longer than normal weeks
2. The are fixing some issus aswell, maybe some balance changes. Like the devs did after ao42
3. something delayed some of the translations, but they want to release the translation patch complete

If i got the time to take part on this weeks tea time, i will ask Marco

Nobody has anything against it, if it takes longer for various reasons, it's not a problem. But where I have a problem is that almost no one from the team speaks out. I see this in the various threads where users ask questions to the team and no one answers.

How much work is the localazition for a half-way experienced person? You should be able to do this on one day, not sure in how many languages the game has to be translated but the delay is very strange.

Well im not impatient, its ok that the translation patch seems to need some more time, but, the promised update on the situation would be most welcome :)

Then you never worked in translating things. I translated 2 chapters of a book once and it was hard and time-intensive and that as a person who is fluent in both languages.

Just translating the words doesn't work well. You have to look up what the fitting words are.

But we dont talk about books. Just the briefings have to be translated and most of the time it is just a talk between two or three guys, not hamlet or goethe :) Plus the localizations are independent from the rest of the game, so they had about 6 month to do it.

I still assume this cant be just the translations. I still bet, that they are working on a bigger patch to fix some of the problems (lag is back, game prefers to crash and so on) like they did after a042.

pure speculation by me

Fortunately, I dont have any lag or crashes right now. It sometimes crashes when I combine two units again, but that happens only twice in a DLC...

Its ok to make a bigger patch, but unfortunately there is no information.

Indeed

Considering lags, well i experience them after hours of pc2 in ao42 and ao43. Ao42 is way better now, but ao43 is kinda severe considering the lags. and if i press space-bar to speed up....hehe this is a mistake, its lagging even more after it.

I still experiencing lags too after playing for a while. If I quit the game and then relaunch it after a couple of minutes, it's gone but returns after a while once again. In AO43, the lag appears to only effect aircraft movement, but it is quite bad and all of the time.

We'll see if the new patch released today helps.

Slowly we are happy about steam achievements. :(

Still missing the localization. ao43 was a smaller DLC with over a year development and still has bugs inside that can be reproduced. Wonder if ao44 will be released before 2024.

My only hope for a great campaign are slowly mods.

To be honest, i am happy with steam acms all the time. I would like way more of them for crazy challenges and so on. They might be a neat little "reward" for testing out new stuff.

I started a new ao43 to test, and well the german localization is now available? I havent tried out if all localizations are there due to language reasons. I mean i speak bad english, way worse french, and real bad spanish (i can order some beer in spanish language - thats all hehe).
So what localization do you miss ?

@ Dev Team

Thanks for the translations with the last patch!

Unfortunately, the name of the last DLC 1943 was not translated in the start menu, but the others are correct. Can it be fixed with the next patch please?

In the campaign selection, on the other hand, everything was translated correctly and completely, many thanks and great praise for that:
