The scenario list of the upcoming DLC Allies Victorious seems to be interesting :)

Scenarios:

1. D-Day - Operation Overlord, the Allied invasion of France begins with amphibious landings of American, British, and Canadian troops on the beaches of Normandy.

2. Caen - Stubborn German resistance at Caen delays further Allied advances inland.

3. Cobra - US forces launch Operation Cobra to break out of their Normandy beachheads while other Allies begin similar offensives.

4. Falaise - Ill-fated German counter attacks allow the Allies to encircle and defeat large Wehrmacht formations in the Falaise pocket.

5. Paris - The Allies finally reach Paris, and drive the Wehrmacht out of the largest part of France.

6. Channel Coast - Allied forces neutralize German defences and V1 launch sites along the French Channel Coast, and seize crucial ports to ensure a steady flow of supplies.

7. Market Garden - The ambitious Allied airborne assault aims to secure vital bridges in the Netherlands to allow for a quick advance into Germany.

8. Scheldt - Allied forces seek to take control of the huge port of Antwerp to vastly improve their supply situation.

9. Lorraine - After crossing the Moselle and Sauer Rivers, Allied forces battle for control of Metz and Nancy, and push towards the defences of the Siegfried Line at the German border.

10. Battle of the Bulge - The Allies have to stop the Ardennes offensive, Germany's last-ditch effort to regain the initiative in the west.

11. Rhineland - The Allies launch a large offensive to cross the Rhine River and need to secure key German cities on the west bank of the Rhine.

12. Remagen - Allied forces aim to capture the vital bridge over the Rhine at Remagen fully intact, and must seek to hold it against enemy counterstrikes and all attempts to destroy it.

13. Ruhr - The Allies manage to encircle substantial German forces in the Ruhr Area, a key industrial region of Germany.

14. To the Elbe - In the last days of the war Allied forces push deeper into Germany and finally make contact with Soviet forces advancing from the east.

Seems that the announcement was really an afterthought, they didn't even bothered with adding pictures or anything else.

Really disappointing to see that the rest of the Italian Campaign got ignored. I was really hoping to see Operation Grapeshot at least.

1 or 2 dedicated battles for elite/guerilla or massive air bomber escort should be good.
Else, like JohnSmirnov has said, it's really less straightforward and increasing replay valuae if we have choice to play at Italy front somewhere. Just about 2-3 missions are enough, i don't care much if the price inflating by extra dev's works bcoz this maybe is the last chapter of OoB (very very possible). Then time to finish off PC2

Even if this is true, people should keep an eye out here for custom stuff. Erik and I are close to releasing Operation Olympic for beta testing (followed by Operation Coronet in the not-too-distant future?) and I have got something in mind that is giving me that old tingling feeling. When we and everybody else here like us have finally headed for greener pastures, then the game will truly be "wound down."

I think the basic design of OOB is good (better than both older and newer versions of the same ilk).
And te editor is superior to just about every other game editor I have worked with.
So unless something significantly better comes along, I will stick to OOB and continue adding custom scenarios and campaigns.

Has anyone heard anything about a timeframe for the release of Allied Victorious?

Amen bro! All you guys doing the custom work deserve a standing ovation. Definitely a case of beer I think. Or at least a cookie or two LOL

I'd prefer a beer, too many websites want to install cookies

Thanks for the kind words, though.

BTW, you can look forward to the new DLC. Interesting well-built scenarios so far (not all of them have been published in the beta-test yet).

In lieu of beer and cookies, I would settle for more feedback like this which, unfortunately, is few and far between. For me, at least. Erik assures me that you all are out there, appreciating and enjoying albeit mutely. Muy bueno.

You're absolutely right, I play this game all the time and I never give praise where it's due. I love this game and would love to see more campaigns. I hate the thought that this may be the last official campaign released for OOB.

This. Exactly this. I'll stick to this game and keep churning out my custom campaigns just because it's so easy to mod it's unbelievable. I've played more custom scenarios than official ones.

It's a tribute to the original designer who walked away from the game years ago. Sensing that, and knowing this game's unfulfilled potential to be improved and expanded to other eras, made me excitable back then. Now, I am calm and take whatever comes concerning OOB.

I just would have liked more novelties for DLCs as is often the case for other games and not just new units and new battles: new specializations, new terrains, new triggers...

I have still many dlc to play and right now I am on a break from this game, currently I am going full medieval with Age of Empires 2 : Definitive Edition.

But I look forward to finish the game and to try the amazing custom content you guys are making.

I just recently tried to get (back) into AoE Definitive Editions, and failed.

Two-fold problem for me: In those types of civilization-building games, I tend to be too peaceful, concentrating on building instead of warring. Also, I don't like the "beat the clock" feel of real-time; that is, you know darned well that the AI is doing exactly what it should (given the difficulty level) and as quickly as possible to beat the daylights out of you. So here you are, erecting a temple and an enemy army shows up, "ready or not, here we come!"

OOB appeals to me for the opposite reasons. It's war and only war, so there's no distracting road building and farm tending. And it's turn-based so that a man may think and plan. Maybe even heat up some popcorn in the microwave and find out how the Yankees are doing before hitting the beaches of Normandy.

So does this means you will hit the beaches at Normandy again, Bru :?:

You may get to take a stroll in the streets of Cherbourg.
