Forged in Battle Team Challenge 1st & 2nd October 2022
The first weekend in October will see Sarisbury Green host the 4th Forged in Battle Team Challenge. The venue is booked & we have capacity for a maximum of 10 teams of 3 players. Priority will be given to those who have attended previously but new players are also welcome. I may have to nudge the cost up slightly due to an increase in the cost of the venue.
The themes could be slightly different if so desired. I'd welcome your thoughts / views to me at peterdalby1960@gmail.com. But if you like what we do - please let me know that too. Or come and talk to me at Warfare or Beachhead.
Venue details are here: http://www.sarisburygreen.org.uk
We are close to Southampton Airport for those coming from further afield and may be able to arrange lifts to and from the airport.
As before this will be a 3-player Team event, 1 player in each pool. Please email Pete Dalby at peterdalby1960@gmail.com if you wish to attend by the 31st July.
Rules to be used are V3. Figure Scale 15mm Specific Period/Theme options & restrictions TBC by the end of February.

Re: Forged in Battle Team Challenge 1st & 2nd October 2022
Despite my best efforts we have 9 full teams entered for the 2022 Forged in Battle Team Challenge. I was so close to having 10 full teams but following 2 cancellations it became unattainable.
The first round draw has been made and will be published once all lists have been received and checked by Phil Powell. Please get your list to Phil at fogamlists@bhgs.org.uk by close of play on Friday 23rd September at the very latest please.
I have analysed the scores from 2022 and the team with a bye will be awarded 65 points. This will be in the proportion of 25 / 15 / 25 to reflect the average scores from last year.
The first round bye goes to Gloucester. I am announcing this now so that you can have a lie in gentlemen! In subsequent rounds we should have a novice player who will be available to play a friendly Sticks n Stones if so desired.
The venue should be open from 8.30 am. Please aim to arrive by 9.00 am (unless you have a bye).
Gaming timetable:
Saturday 09.15 to 12.15 Sunday 09.15 to 12.15
13.00 to 16.00 13.00 to 16.00
16.30 to 19.30
As in previous years, tea, coffee & biscuits will be available for £1 each day. It would be helpful if you could bring your own mug please.
We should have ample cloths but if you would prefer to bring your own gaming mat please feel free to do so.
Hopefully I’ve covered everything you need but please contact me at peterdalby1960@gmail.com if required. Emergency contact on the day at 07770 333303.

Re: Forged in Battle Team Challenge 1st & 2nd October 2022
Hi all,
Just to say our newbie player is raring to play and learn, so is planning to be there for game one if Gloucester are avaiible.
If players dont want to help a newer player learn by playing a game against them if they have a bye, please let me know as otherwise its a wasted trip for young Will from his university digs!
He has played five games now so can set up okay, its the experience. He is one of 5 other players (including my son!) who are in the process of learning so we should get some new players for tournnaments if we all muck in. Big thank you of course to Phil who has gifted an army to Will who is now buying more figures.
cheers
David

Re: Forged in Battle Team Challenge 1st & 2nd October 2022
I took a lucky army, when my Cavalry Lancers were charged by Pete Dalby’s Serbian Knights I got seven hits out of nine dice, and by the end of the turn the Serbs had lost half their bases and a general. I also got 15 hits from my first 16 dice against Dave Morrison, and nine out of nine on impact when my crossbow of doom charged into his Persian Archers and broke four BGs in one turn when I was one off breaking.
