Order of Battle: World War II - Open February Tournament

Post by tebaf3 »

Open - February 2023 Tournament.

Do not miss the chance to sign-up to the new tournament Open - February 2023. You can sign-up here. There will be 3 Tournament Maps:
  • Round 1: Bootcamp Battle - GB vs USSR
  • Round 2: Wake Island Assault
  • Round 3: Crescent Bay
The tournament follows Swiss Tournament rules: you can find the full list of rules here.

The first round will commence on Wednesday, 1st February 2022 at 10am GMT. No further entries can be accepted after the tournament has begun.

The tournament will last 3 rounds, 15 days each. Games are paired, so each matchup will be played both ways. All you need to do is sign up, then the system will pair you with opponents and create your PBEM++ games. You will be notified by mail of when the tournament is starting and when it will be time to play your turns.

Is that new "challenge issued" thing related to the tournament? I'm unclear how it works because I haven't been playing much lately, just popped by the forum to see how things were going and got a couple odd messages which didn't specify who issued the challenge or for what. I'm probably missing something obvious, heh.

No tournament messages via the forum, no.

Emails get sent for when it's your turn and also there's the notifications on the main website if you're logged in.

Hmm, odd. I don't have any games going and I'm used to the emails of it being my turn, this was something new. Perhaps it's related to a different slitherine game...

===> NO. I don't get any mail when it's my turn to play. Although it worked some time ago...

Hey guys, I'm matched up against Tapirman and he hasn't done his 2 initial turns.
Any way to reach out to him to ask him to go? TIA

Hi, the best option might be to try and use the forum messaging system to reach them?

I just sent him a PM.
If he doesn't go, do I still get some points for him no-showing?
