The v9.2.5 Rising Sun Campaign's Elite Air Groups spec advertises "The first two purchased air units gain 3 experience stars". However, this bonus is applied to units already active in the force pool- not to new purchases.
This was observed with a core imported from Morning Star that included the Flight School spec. In the previous scenario, I deployed 3 air units. After acquiring the Elite Air Groups spec, the next scenario showed the bonus was applied to 2 of those existing air units. That was unexpected behavior, and I reloaded to get my money back...
If that is working as designed, perhaps the advertisement should be changed to "The first ever two purchased air units gain 3 experience stars".

Re: Elite Air Groups Spec Description Misleads?
Thanks for pointing this out. What you described from playing experience seems to jibe with the descriptive blurb for this specialisation; that is, new airmen are not trained to be immediately elite. Instead, they are picked from existing air crews based on proven excellence and gathered into elite combat groups.
Therefore, I have changed my copy of this to read as follows:
BEFORE:
AFTER:
Now, as I sort of alluded to in the other thread that you brought out of mothballs today in order to comment about a flaw in DLC that has not been addressed, and the reason why I underlined "my" above, this is not official and will not appear in a future patch unless it is edited by Slitherine. I am doing this for my own benefit in my version of the game.
You can do the same. Note that this is correctable in the english_7.txt file in this OOB game folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Slitherine\Order of Battle - WWII\Order of Battle - WW2_Data\Content\Language
But heed the warning that I gave in the other thread: If you choose to change this yourself, be aware that a future patch will overwrite your edited file. You need to keep a copy of it elsewhere and move it back after updating with the patch.
(Also realize that, sometimes in Windows, it can be tricky to actually edit a program file directly; the system allows you to believe that you did but you really did not. It is better to copy the file elsewhere, edit it, and then copy or move it back over the original version.)

Looks good! (I was concerned about the length of the descriptive blurb not fitting into the box, but there was plenty of room.) Thanks again.

I am not English but for me the description is correct. The time used is the past participle for the verb purchase.
