My opponent was quick to report the result from Beiville but I will give a little more correct picture of the battle:

The extremely even battle of Bieville is over. After fierce fighting where Volkgrenadiers wrestled with Crocs in the open the allies stood victorious. I would call it a minor victory for the allies... 17-0. Long live Deutschland!

Road to Hillman 1VP - allies (I was close)
Road to Pegasus 5VP - allies (I had this one)
Bieville 3VP - allies (this one he took with pure luck)
Road to Buron 3VP (I was just about to take it back)
Crossroads 5VP (well, this one was mine too and... ehh...)

17-0 for the allies! Congratulations!

The germans gather their proud troops after the organized strategic retreat.

LMAO Honour... Nice match report... You're right. Lousy ref! Should have gone to penalties, I reckon! ;-)

BATTLE RESULTS - JUNE 10th AM

Bieville - Col JonCorcuera 1/79 [MRS] AFD v Lt Col Honour Ost 642/716 [ARPS]

1/79 elite Allied armour overwhelms the "old men and young boys" of Ost 642/716 volksgrenadier brigade, scattered around the woods and grasses of BiƩville plain

1/79: 6 KIAs = 2x Eng, 1x Roo, 1x M5, 1x Sherman, 1x Firefly
Ost 642/716: 24 KIAS = 3x VG, 3x Inf, 2x Eng, 3x HMG, 2x Scout, 1x PzS, 2x Mortar, 3x 75Pak40, 3x Truck, 1x 251/1, 1x Puma

1/79 takes Bieville
Ost 642/716 did not win any VP flags and has nowhere to withdraw to, so it was dissolved (+10% loss penalties, rounded up)
Congratulations both. One heck of a victory for the Allies, while the decimated Germans still managed to knock out some capital units...

Pegasus Bridge - Maj CoreySr 30/79 [ATMRS] attack/no move AFD v Lt Gen Mlazar 914/352 [FwPS]

30/79 elite Allied armour was repelled by strong defensive positions of 914/352 infantry regulars

30/79: 5 KIAs = 1x M5, 1x Firefly, 3x Croc
914/352: 4 KIAS = 1x PzShrek, 2x Pak40, 1x 251/1

30/79 holds in Benouville and will face an ASD attack from 858/346, approaching from Ouistreham
914/352 holds Pegasus and will face an AFD from 9/3cdn (the Allies starting with the Crossroads and Pegasus Bridge flags that they won)

Cristot - Lt Col Honour II/12/12SS [MRPS] ASD v Capt MKboy 231/50

Cunning interception by SS heavy panzer brigade II/12/12SS blocks fast moving mechanised 231/50's rush to surround Carpiquet, annihilating a late charge across the Bessin bridges.

II/12/12SS: an astonishing zero KIAs!
231/50: 16 KIAS = 1x Inf, 2x Eng, 2x PIAT, 1x 17pdr, 4x Bren, 1x M16AA, 2x M10, 3x Sherman

II/12/12SS holds in Cristot
231/50 has no adjacent, friendly sector to withdraw to and is dissolved

Hermanville - Lt Col iProp 192/21 [APS] ASD v Lt Col Mowby 27/3 [MRS]

A loooooong slog in the hedgerow... Germans inflicted heavier losses, but Allies won the day... earning 22/7 the right to breakout towards Caen...

Allies lost 3 infantry, 7 armour... Germans lost 3 infantry, 2 armour, 2 halftracks
Actual KIAs have been estimated from known summary and both side's forum comments...
192/21: 7 KIAs = 1x scout, 1x inf, 1x hmg, 2x 251, 1x stug, 1x marder
27/3: 10 KIAs = 2x inf, 1x mortar, 2x M5s, 2x Brens, 2x Cromwell, 1x Sherman

27/3 holds Hermanville
192/21 withdraws to Bretteville

No problems.

If I'm right the extra losses for being dissolved are: 1x VG, 1x Inf and 1x 37mm. Only 5x VG remains to return to battle next day. Right?

Yes, that's right. OUCH! Well, they'll be useful infantry 'eyes' for Caen or Bayeux, I expect...

Tack ;-) P-A! Great Strat Map update.

Is it possible to add one little thing of enormous benefit? Could you add direction of approach arrows for the BGs that are fighting? Makes designing easier (can almost do it all from your map). And makes it clear to players if they might have terrain advantage/disadvantages from their direction of approach...

Sure, will add arrows in the future. Will work out some sort of arrows that indicate if a move result in an attack or not. Different colours for the two sides etc.

That's a good idea...
Think line for Attack that sector?
Thin line for Attack/no move?
Dotted lines for move thru?

VOTE: Naval Arty.

Gents,

Background: You'll all have realised that Naval Arty is critical to the Allies' survival, especially getting off the beaches... Right now, the Allies get +2 Naval Arty bonuses per turn up to the 2nd row of the Strat Map, along the Vaux sur Aure to Ranville line... I've had some conversations with Players and Commanders, along the lines, "But HMS Rodney could fire heavy bombardments all the way into Carpiquet"... And, it would appear, that the Allies do need Naval Arty deeper into the map...

Solution: I propose to extend the Allied Naval Arty so that +1 of those +2 Naval Arty bonuses may be fired up to the 3rd row of the Strat Map, along the Bayeux to Bois de Bavent line once the following condition has been met. The Allies must have neutralised (taken and continue to hold) both of the German coastal batteries at Hillman AND Merville/Franceville, to be able to bring a battleship/battlecruiser close enough into shore to fire that deep.

VOTE: Yea or nay please...

I vote yes on that, although maybe a tie vote goes to Germans in this case.
Can you make naval fire more-inaccurate..? You could give us both chits if the fire was more inaccurate inland.... :)

We gave them extra airplanes so why not give them extra naval artillery? Anything else they want?

I vote yes! Because it sounds historically correct and it feels so much better winning battles when they have all the advantages.
