Lots of too-ing and fro-ing in this one....night fell and we were happy to disengage.

a tooth and nail struggle that could have gone either way. The Assyrian chariots created problems in the center for most of the battle, with the Seleucid foot breaking through only with great effort and no small amount of luck. Meanwhile, a patch of rough terrain on the left was well utilized by the Assyrians to scatter a Parthian horse-archer flanking detachment and effectively neutralize the Parthian cataphracts. Only after a chaotic cavalry battle on the right - and slow, elephant-aided progress in the center - were the Parthians able to largely encircle and destroy the Assyrian infantry. All of that said, the final scoreline was inflated by the dumb luck of ~3 routed parthian units rallying in the last couple of turns - the real difference was MUCH smaller and for most of the match the Assyrians were ascendant.

Blagrot- Danish 1200-1319 AD with Baltic Tribes 1050-1283 AD ally beat Kroche - Teutonic Order 1226-1319AD with Polish 1200-1319 AD ally 60% - 49%

A brutal slugfest with the Teutons taking up posistions across a pair of low hills and the Danes trying to outflank with varying success (Left flank good, Right flank bad). Stars were the noble cavalry and mounted crossbows who scored a number of critical flank charges, one unit of mounted crossbows ending the game happily pursuing towards the Teuton deployment zone with 4 turns of ammo unused

This game was looking like a draw until the 24th turn, when my grinding, exhausted Huscarls finally broke through. Well played by Fluidwill.

Challenge1 - Macedonian 320-61 with Greek allies defeated luciussulla - Mannaean 750-610 BC w/ Urartian 681-585 BC allies

60 - 38

The Mannaean arrow storm did a lot of damage but once the Macedonians managed to close it was all over for the lightly equipped Mannaeans. It was actually quite a complex, cat and mouse manouever match and I still have no idea how those chariots stand so long!
