Gcfl1 decided to start very defensively which allowed me to position my cav. on his right flank. Slow game at first, then everything accelerated in our center. I could find some angles, he did well on my right flank but too late.

The Romans had bad luck in this game, with two generals killed in light cavalry charges. However, Carthage relied too heavily on terrain for passive defense and failed to seize the right attacking opportunity.

In the end, the Romans, who took the initiative, won the final victory.

Bagatrix1805 defeated in an Epic clash of arms Batesmotel 60-54 it went back and forth all game long the Roman elephant causing multiple casualties to my brave Samnite fellows but in the end a lucky roll and the Romans just broke. Great game and a great opponent

Alexhstandish (Boudicca's Bastards) drew with Karvon (Hell on wheels) 46: 45.

A slow start in largely open terrain. The Axumites resisted a German trap (ambushes in woods), forcing the Germans to come to them. The Germans did so with mass LI bow in the front and lancers behind. After much maneuvering, and a lengthy exchange of missile fire (which was inconclusive), the Axumites launched camels to chase them off.

This led to a more general fight with losses on both sides. A tough and interesting fight with a draw probably a fair result. thanks for the game Karvon.

klayeckles (syro-canaanites) defeats lydianed (amorite)
score was 49-17

this was looking like a draw, as both armies sat on high rough hills with a stream between them. The battle started out with a massive arrow volley contest, both sides emptying their quivers. the amorites shot up the syro center, and things were looking a bit sketchy for the syro army. The Amorites sent their crack troops against the Syro right flank, crossing the river and attempting to push up the hill. But the Syro army had superior chariots in reserve on both flanks, and after shooting near-naked spearmen full of holes the syro troops charged down the hill and crushed the flanking attempt. this led to a slow callapsing of the amorite assault, now in full swing on the opposite flank as well.
a valiant attempt...with things in the balance until near the end. GG and hats off to Lydianed for a gritty attack. a fun one.

I think GDod will play another turn.

I believe that despite the slight lead, the Arabs are in a more commanding position and next turn would see flank attacks and they would take a slight lead. I presume it will be a 0-0 result.

Not that it makes a significant difference but shouldn't my score in the match against Stew be 20 instead of 18, since the match did not end and the score was 20-38?
