What has happened to you, Slitherine? How far you have fallen. This update is so frustrating, and now to hear this. Very unprofessional.
Newrosoft is another company, not part of Slitherine. We paid them to update the game. Dan was a big fan and seemed like the ideal fit for the project. We are charging for old version combined with the new version and clearly explain what you are getting on the product page. We've lost a lot of money on this project and there is no way we can ever get it back. Not to mention the time invested. Nobody is as disappointed about this as us. We're at a point where we cant justify spending any more on it as every penny spent is guaranteed to be lost so we are not funding Newrosoft. The only other option which we carefully considered was to kill the Unity version. We didn't really have many options here.

I have no doubt you are disappointed. I've been in a similar position so I appreciate your pain. However, way back at the start of this some of us were warning that you were making bad choices, so I wonder why you guys didn't think that as well. As it is, it sounds like the game just died. Which is sad.

I feel sad to hear this and I hope some long time fans of the game keep supporting the project together with the developer.
It can't get any worse so it can only get better.
I have much respect that you keep the old version alive together with the new Unity version.

There is one question as a Steam user and someone who know Slitherine as a company only since two years and that is if you ever considered a Steam EA release for the game?
Is it impossible / difficult or to costly to make the old FOG Steam proof together with the new Unity version as an EA game?
Is the EA program costly for smaller publishers?

I can imagine if selling the game in EA on Steam together with a Steam version of the old FOG as "extra" for Steam users (Steam has 130 million subscribers) was bringing new players to the game, loads of feedback and maybe even some more profit to fund the new Unity version?

Is there a thread where one can read these suggested fixes in more detail, or does that discussion take place in the Beta forum?
