I stopped exporting after my first game.

I found that part of the beauty of FOGE is that it is a grand strategy game which play quite fast if you let it; despite 500 turns.

In terms of auto resolve fights, they are, in fact, fun and exciting. My complements to Pocus; I have never see this done so well.

---

Exporting really defeats both the frontage and terrain penalties.

(1) The entire armies get exported, not just those who participate in the frontage.

(2) The terrain penalties have minimal impact. Like I might have a alpine battle (attack). That means at most 6v6 with a -2 penalty.

But in FOG2 that will be the entire armies, and maybe 20% of the terrain squares will be mountain. But even even you are field LEGION or PHALANX, you will have no trouble finding open terrain to make them deadly.

You really kill the intent of Empires what was a nicely crafted battle system by exporting.

---

Finally, FOG2 has a very tune-able campaign system that will give you better fights and more challenge than FOGE exports.

Interesting comments, I am lurking on this forum because I want to play a strategy game in the ancient era and this one is on top in my list.
I agree with others that to fight battles on FOG2 against the AI cannot be the best solution (especially if you have the right tactic against it).

What is the difference playing on FOGII? Are the losses more severe in FOG:E?

Can you play a MP game fighting the battles on FOGII against a real opponent?
I know that cannot be pratical or a very long affair, but I am just wondering.

You can't export battles in multiplayer, as you said it would take way too much time anyway especially for 12 players rounds

I am currently playing a game against my brother, and dad in a multiplayer campaign. I do wish you could export battles from a multiplayer campaign, as we do not care about the time constraints.
