Yes, my fans are running at high speed and very laud. I have Lenovo Legion Y540 which is almost brand new and should be able to handle turn based game easily. I lower the options such as display quality, frame rate, etc. but didn't make any difference. Please focus on this issue. It is very annoying and distracting.

And it seems odd that the GPU would have to be cranking away at 100% if I alt-tab into another program and Panzer Corp isn't even on the screen. Do we really need the virtual flags waving when no one can see them?
Maybe make a setting so we can turn off the ocean waves and then we can hover over some empty, still ocean before we tab out for a reduced GPU load while we are away? Already I get a reduced GPU load if I hover over ocean instead of land before alt-tabbing. Still, non-animated ocean would be even better, I'm sure.

Thank you. It is good to hear, that you are looking into it, even if your answer somehow seems a little bit like downplaying the issue to me. I hope, you can see my point of view, that after pre-ordering the most expensive version of this game and now considering not to play it, it does not really encourage me to hear, that the game "has been optimised to the nth degree", that "it is not an overnight fix" and so on. Considering, that the game at least for me and maybe not only me is now in a state, where the ability to play it is at least questionable. To be clear: I don't suggest a lack of quality management or anything, but for these forums half a dozen people or more with the exact same problem within a day after release seem to suggest a little bit more than a fairly isolated problem.
Yeah, seems the same to me. My PC is almost overwhelmed when playing this game, my wife hears it in the room next doors. I have no problems at all playing every other game (CoH2, Witcher 3, Far Cry 5 etc.). Even on lowest graphic settings I have over 80% gpu usage.

i second the problem, on rx 580 it uses all 8GM of Vram (nor normal RAM, VRAM!!!), puts cooler fan to the max and after i close the game, VRAM usage still remains 6GB, i have to reset the PC to get the normal value again, there is definitely something wrong with the game

And the only "official" reaction is more or less one post on the steam forum that optimization is now high priority. I mean, that isn't much, considering that more and more people are talking about a refund. I really hope, that developpers will make same kind of announcement after this weekend, acknowledging the problem and giving us some kind of a - albeit vague - eta or roadmap for fixing this. I really had and still have high hopes for the game and am willing to wait for devs to fix it, but I least I need some confirmation that the game will be playable...

Usually I am more concerned with CPU, though this game is fine.
Per GPU one can lower it by 10 -15%, simply, by scrolling all the way out.
Not ideal, but works if needed.

Changing the setting on my Amd Radeon software from gaming to standard reduced my GPU workload..

Also, hit the 'window key' & make sure only the actual game is running; particularly if you have used the Editor to generate a scenario.

I lowered all the graphic settings to minimum and the target FPS to the lowest possible option and the fans are still going bananas.

I have a 1660ti and used 'msi afterburner' to lower the graphic card performance.
. powerlimit 53%
. temp.limit 65 C
. coreclock -502 mhz
. memory clock -502 mhz
. fanspeed automatic
The game seems to adapt pretty good. I got 45fps on high graphic quality at Dunkirk. At Norway it stil drops to 25fps but when I turn tesselation off it gets above 40.
Graphicscard fanspeed drops below 40% and I can't hear it anymore.

Can you use the msi afterburner with every gpu, or only the ones manufactured by msi? Sorry, but I am not very experienced with this. Anyways I am still hoping for some kind of statement from the devs, while getting really disappointed...

Got the high GPU usage on my 2080S as well. My settings were at 120Hz refresh rate. When I lower it to 100, 80 etc.. the GPU usage goes down accordingly. So that works for my graphic card. It was in the Tutorial mission 3. I will see if it is still ok in further missions. I also installed the newest nvidia driver as well. Keep up the great work. The game is fun!

Well I caught my card at 96ºC! Must be a record! Anyway, I lowered the fps to 30 and lowered the graphics and it doesn't seem to go over 85ºc now...

Mine overheats and shuts off after a scenario or two, even with the graphics at their lowest. Did not happen with the early release version.

As far as I know it should work with cards from other manufacturers but I failed to find confirmation. I wouldn't mind trying it on an Gigabyte or Asus card with nVidea graphics. It is an overclock tool, so you should know what you try to do. Maximizing performance and minimizing fanspeed against noise is possible but not very wise. What I did was underclock the card and let it decide what fanspeed it needs. Prety safe.
