Hi Rob,
I think this year, you have a faire chance to play me in any round, I hesitated between Mongol and Tlaxcalan and it seem I made the bad choice

Hi Olivier
I'd have preferred you as a Mongol.
Now lets wait for Bob Amey's sexual innuendo's!

In the 25mm competition there are two armies down as 'anglo-irish'. Does anyone know if that is ealry or later?
Cheers

The seeding numbers as listed at present are based on the UK rankings ignoring foreign players (because I am a muppet) and without consideration of the various players who have offered to play in different periods to help even things up.
I will no doubt have to revise the seedings somewhat so those UK players in the last and possibly next to last seeded slots may find that they transform into lurkers in the bushes rather than hunters waiting for their prey

I think we already knew
(about you being a muppet, I mean...)
I wait for the obligatory "It's Hammy's fault"...

You mean its not like chess challenges, i.e. they don't play in all comps simultaneously?

Why would anyone really be early if they can be later?

Just for curiosity, is David Fairhurst really intend to play as Early Successor AND Floater in any other pool ?
If so , he is a really tough guy!
Or may be, it's another overlooking by the always overbooked Hammy !

Its better than that Olivier,I'm down as using Inca and Early Successor in the same pool,I have played 2 games at once at the club before but I suspect I couldn't manage it at Britcon, its tiring enough as it is

Repeat after me
"It's all Hammy's fault..."
Maybe we should have Britcon T-shirts printed with that on the front...

Well, if you believe that their only motivation is to be a champion toy soldier player, then yes I would agree that later is a lot more likely. It is however possible that they have an interest in the military history of the period and want to use the early army, even if it is not optimsed for winning. Unlikely but possible.

Surely the Inca will be easy to play. Just imagine them as naughty schoolboys. Throw stones at people, hit them when they're not looking. Run away if somebody stands up to you.

Love to play the Inca in period 2,but the dates don't allow it,anyway all the naughty schoolboys are on the streets of our big cities at present, hopefully they won't be turning up in Manchester any time soon

David offered to float between FoG2 and FoG3 with Incas in FoG3.
As it happens we have now finalised the FoG pools and David is definitely in FoG2 with his Early Successors.
Things are pretty quiet at the moment and there didn't seem to be much going on near the venue last night. There have been various people sweeping up broken glass and such in the city centre but that is about it. It is raining at the moment so that should calm things down tonight.

Is there going to be time to update the lists?
Now the pools have been more finalised and David knows his fate.
Or are there not enough other changes to make it worth it?

Matt should be posting the final situation regarding the FoG pools on the BHGS site in the near future.

The eally period looks interesting but I would have expected Ruddock to be a Philistine or a kuSHITe.
Had another game last night and he is in peak form as far as whinging about dice rolls is concerned!! Is there a trophy for that, because if there is get his named engraved now?
Also if chap who was asking about the Science Fiction Cafe is about - its easy to find just follow the sad looking people in anaraks!
