Further to the above, we have added an additional advanced option for the next update to minimize tooltips. If this option is selected, the only information that will show in tooltips during the battle is the name of the unit the mouse is over.

I think you will find that this option will give you a much less cluttered screen. (Also a lot less useful information  )

(Sorry beserko, we can't eliminate the unit name tooltip without a change to the engine that might cause side effects to other games.)

Of course, the normal Simple and Detailed tooltip options are still available.

NP at all! I am thrilled about the changes made already. God, I wish an Ipad could use a mouse. For exacting detail there is nothing better! (starting a Windows-Mac fanwar here!)
I have a kindle too and a Nvidea shield. I wonder how they would play.

I know what you mean. I haven't got P&S iPad yet just PC, but I find BA2 on iPad much easier to handle using a stylus. Far less chance of moving a unit without meaning to, or in the wrong direction, or when (hopefully) tapping a part of the map intending to deselect it only for it to head off in that direction. It doesn't help that iPads pick up even the slightest finger contact with the screen, so that even a brushing accidental contract makes something happen.

Still, it looks like touchscreens are going to be the future, so I suppose we'd better get used to them.

I have been playing a few weeks and have enjoyed it immensely. The skirmish mode has been robust enough to keep me playing. On BA2 it sort of got repetitive to play skirmish mode. This is just about my favorite period for miniatures gaming and P&S certainly feels like a virtual miniatures game on the iPad. I am looking forward to more factions in the upcoming expansion too.

I am on my 5th stylus. I wonder where the other 4 went?

Just wondering... did a search for gameplay videos on You Tube, because I'm having some difficulty understanding some of the command and control movements... but can only find PC videos, anyone know of a iPad walk through or something? Thx.

I have found that in combat when troops are taking damage, the disrupted/fragmented text fades away too slowly, obscuring the figures of damage taken.

I am not aware of any, but apart from tapping instead of mouse clicking, the game works exactly the same on the iPad as it does on the PC.

He means the unit list. The button on the list slider is microscopic on the iPad and very hard to use. It will be larger after the next update.
Is there a current workaround for this - any other way to scroll through the list rather than use the elusive red button? Any tricks to actually grab the red button consistently?

The easiest way is to drag the list away from the edge of the screen, and then tap on the down arrow rather than attempting to use the slider. As I say, the slider button will be made larger in the next update.

Thank you so much for making that red dot bigger (He means the unit list LOL) On another note I am in the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Slitherine\Pike and Shot - Tercio to Salvo Beta\PIKEANDSHOT.exe" beta. I have reloaded it a half dozen times and all I get is an install CRC failure. I haven't seen this problem on any of the comments so I thought I would try here!
Pike and shot is just getting better and better.

Don't get your hopes up too high, it is still a bit small on the iPad. OTOH it is a lot easier to use the up and down arrows with the larger slider.

The biggest problem that I have with the iPad version is accidentally limbering or unlimbering my artillery when I tap to select it. I haven't seen anybody else mention this so maybe it is some habit peculiar to me. It drives me mad though.

It happens to me too, now and then when your a bit too quick with the fingertips. Very annoying...

That's when you want the undo button.

Yes agreed!

Is there any timeline for these updates to be submitted for a release?

An update is due to be released in April. Sadly, it won't include an Undo button because the engine does not support this.

Is there a way to get the detailed combat analysis on the IPAD before an attack... on the PC it's just a CNTRL option
