Badger73 (Palmyran 258-273 AD) defeated gfs26 (Dacian 50 BC - 88 AD with Sarmation allies) - 51:19

A hard fought infantry fight in the center during initial stages with Dacian warbands suffering some bad luck. Palmyran cataphracts stood fast against Sarmatian cavalry long enough for the Roman allied infantry to prevail in the center and turn against a now exposed infantry flank. Good game with a fun opponent.

Alexmike1 Latin Greek 1205-1311 with Catalan allies beat Indibil with Catalan Company 1305-1319 by 52:25.

On a fairly clear battlefield the charge of the Greek knights carried the day.

Ironclad (Sarmatian 350 BC - 24 AD) defeated Linko (Carthaginian 235-146 BC) 61-49

A tough fight which the Sarmatians eventually won thanks to their greater mobility. The Carthaginins achieved the most notable feat when a depleted and fragmented African spear unit fought off repeated enemy cavalry assaults before it was finally overcome.

The Irish foot did a lot better at holding off the lancers than I expected, I think I got pretty lucky on them not getting disrupted early on. A rough patch towards my right helped hold off more of the lancers while the shieldwalls faced off against his spears.

Ironclad (Lombard 493-567 AD with Avar allies) defeated mcfcivo (Roman 24 BC - 196 AD with Armenian allies) 42-5

The Lombards shifted left to keep the legions at a distance and concentrate on the enemy auxiliaries and cavaly on the right rear. By the time the legions came to close quarters their right wing had been shattered and their left flank was also suffering from enemy incursions cuminating in the Lombards victory.

Kerait - Venetian 1440-1500 - defeats Garokan - German City Southeast 1490-1500 with German feudal allies - 40-14

The Venetians won by taking a brute force approach of charging the Germans with mercenary MAAs, billmen and a Swiss keil before the Germans could fully bring their terrifying array of crossbow, war wagon and artillery fire power to bear. The Germans initially moved forward to lay claim to a hill in the centre of the map which would have been costly to abandon to the enemy, but this came at the price of opening them up to an early melee.

The German landscknecht keils won in the center and were still winning. However, the earlier German City army won the battles on both flanks. Closer than the score indicates.

The Portuguese knights redeployed to crush the Berber right flank and almost succeeded. Berber camels delayed the knights long enough for the Arab spearmen and bow to catch up to the knights and defeat the Portuguese right flank and center. Thanks for the game.

Fortunately for the Berbers the battle was fought in the desert on fairly open terrain. One English Gallogaich unit almost won the battle by rallying at one point from fragmented back to normal and only breaking due to losses and to add insult to injury killed the Berber general in combat. Three Berber generals died during combat and that was nearly the difference. Good game and it could have easily been an English victory.

Yet another nailbiter (toes included). DF was in the lead for the majority of the game having nearly wiped out all of my foot units but the extra distance travelled by the mounted, allowed me to catch up until at the end I got lucky.

A draw, yet again would have been OK but DF deserved a victory here.
