What a game. Started very badly for me and I'd given up hope really with the Armenians in a good (but too small for his army) defensive position (hill with a swamp) so my infantry got very badly shredded advancing. I then fell back and let my foe pursue me onto the surrounding flat plains where I regrouped and managed to beat him. Lacklustre performance by his cataphracts and his massed archers no longer having the terrain protection allowed my cavalry to regain the battle. A fun battle and reminder you should never give up hope in this game even if you have a bad start!

A long and close battle saw the Berbers draw against the Danes. The Danes advanced along a plateau spearheaded by Swedish heavy infantry, protecting their left flank with multiple raw spear units. Initial skirmishes saw the Berber lights in the centre routed and the Danes could take position on a slight incline while they extended their right with their heavy and medium cavalry. There was somewhat of a standoff as both sides looked for an advantage. A small force of Muslim Cavalry, supported by light horse and remaining javelins, attempted to circumnavigate the Danish flank to come round to help break the impasse on the left. This took some time and a couple of cavalry did manage to cut through. Fierce clashes saw the Berber left beginning to make ground. The Danes on the right were grinding down the Berber spear and archer units. Ultimately time ran out with both sides, I think, happy to call it even. GG.

Rafydedel Khazar 568-737 defeats Ironclad (Lombard 493-567 AD with Avar allies) 55-5

The two armies met on a difficult terrain where a marsh, a stream and a lake cut a wooden mountainous landscape with some plain. The two armies started with comfortable defensive position, but after some approach on my end and exchanging some arrows (and gentle provocation ), Ironclad charged my first line of horse archers and light troops in the plain with the full strength of his cavalry + light foot army. The plain proved to be two small for his cavalry to operate at full strength while my mix army of infantry, cavalry, artillery and bowmen could stop them and defeat them.

Rafydedel Khazar 568-737 defeats mcfcivo Roman 24 BC- 196AD with Armenian allies 40-7

On an open terrain, the roman came with mostly infantry and a few cavalry and light units, while the Khazar showed up with almost only cavalry units. The Khazar first targeted the enemy bowmen, and next managed to go around the roman (despite their placement in a very large line). As the Roman progress pushing back the lancers in the center, the Khazars horsemen were able to weaken and defeat more and more isolated units. Some luck helped too.

Rosedelio (Wallachian) defeats Kroche (Berber) 62-39

The Wallachians set up defensively on some hills between a large forest and some enclosures. As the Berbers approached, they tried to flank around with light cav. However, the lights and irregulars in the forest managed to delay them while the Wallachian archers shot at the approaching infantry. Some infantry still managed to reach the archers, but not enough to collapse the Wallachians.
