Hi,

as I have read that the game is using a new gfx engine...will I be able to play it when my PC runs FoG2 and FoG Empires fine? I am using an Intel integrated chip UHD 620 on a Windows 10 Home 64-Bit i5-8250U CPU @ 1.60GHz 8 GB RAM PC

Thanks! :)

Where did you hear its using a new engine? That's news to us.

Some people are reporting the game loads and runs better. The only things I can think of are a slightly more agressive choice of .dds compression formats when possible, fewer terrain objects ( though each is higher poly ), and a reduction in size of some ancilliary textures as they didn't need to be as high res for the given style. But then this would be offset by many unit texture sizes that are now 200% bigger.

In the Wargamer review it is stated:

"Further, there is a modified game engine"

So my machine will run it as fine as the FoG2 I am already playing? :)

If you run the Ancients game alright you should be ok to run the medieval game.

It is ever so slightly more demanding but most systems that run Ancients will have no problem at all.

No. He said it was using a "modified game engine", which in the strictest sense it is. It's the same Archon engine used for Ancients, but over the last few years, with the Ancients DLC and development of Medieval we've naturally added stuff here and there, and many of the game rules have been changed to suit the Medieval units/period.
But that's not a "new gfx engine" and I don't see any reason why your computer wouldn't run it if it could already run Ancients. As I said, many people are suggesting better loading times and smoother framerates.

It's loading faster for me than FoG II. Beats it out by about 5 seconds. So, it's actually optimized and should run a bit better for everyone.

What a big shame: Still we can't ingame bind keys nor increase this tiny font size.
I regreat buying. The two bigger flaws are still here.

You can bind most of the main controls in the OPTIONS.TXT file. The font size can be tweaked in the SYSTEM/FONT.TXT file. This is true of FoG2 also.

Cheers

That's what I say: This problem is known since years, and no work was done on this to have ingame options.
Devs, do you work on a future patch.
