Gameplay mechanics questions

Long time Panzer Corps veteran here, with several questions regarding PC2 gameplay.

Firstly - how do I know when will a unit disembark their transport after movement, and when will it stay mounted? It probably depends on the length of the mounted movement, as I found that troops will generally dismount after a shorter ride, and stay mounted after a longer one - but I want to know exactly when will either happen. It's very frustrating when I'm advancing with an infantry unit and expecting them to dismount and take their place in the line, but they stay mounted; or when I'm moving my artillery forward to cover the frontline during the enemy turn and they remain towed by their trucks.

Secondly - how come sometimes tanks can move after an overrun action, sometimes they can't, and sometimes they can only advance 1 or 2 hexes? Is it dependable on their movement prior to the overrun action? Shouldn't it be irrelevant, as it states that the unit's move and firing actions are reset?

Thirdly - sometimes, units that have received a hammering and retreated from their position during the enemy's turn can't move at all during my turn (but they are in supply, in clear and unfrozen ground, and sometimes don't even have transports attached (infantry)). They can resupply, reinforce and attack, though. Why does this happen, and is it a bug?

The icons are different, so just by looking at the destination hex should tell you. The general rule is that travelling more than 66% of the organic transport's maximum range* prevents deployment, unless you have a hero or trait that can circumvert the limitation.

Move and attack actions are reset, but not their movement points, which is a different matter entirely. It's another reason fast tanks are useful.

Units that are forced to move during another player's turn lose those move points during their next turn, so slow units, or units that were forced to retreat into swamps, rivers etc may not get to move at all as they'll have lost all their move points.

* Technically not the range but the # of movement points.
