Ming triumphs once again. Sad news but it sounds like Don gave it his all and almost saved our Qing Japanese allies. Maybe we'll have better luck against the Ming Mongols!ahuyton wrote: ↑Thu Jul 14, 2022 7:50 am After a hard struggle, on turn 22, my heroic, though desperate, Ming finally saw off Don's Japanese challenge by 60-46. For most of the game we were suffering even casualties and either side could have won. In the end, I was able to use a wood on my right flank to make a mess of some of the Japanese spearmen and I think this made the difference.
Terrific game, very pleasant to play against Don.

It is with great regreat, that I have to report to Emeror Gavin, the sad news that the Japanese Home Army has suffered an embarrassing defeat, 0-41%, in a game that I got completly wrong and resulted in a severe thrashing! I therefore offer my full appologies to our beloved Emperer, as I prepare to fall upon my sword.....
Congratulations and very well played to Brian, and thanks for an enjoyable and entertaining game

The tribal rebels 1595-1700 are invading the Eastern Mongols 16oo-1634.
The challenge is offered to any potential Ming defenders out there, who feel up to it....

I think you have made an error Warrior230, the Invader Tribal Rebels were conquered by snuggles and are now a Ming Province.warrior230 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 15, 2022 8:24 am The tribal rebels 1595-1700 are invading the Eastern Mongols 16oo-1634.

Re: Sengoku Jidai - 2022 Team Event
Although, the province was conquered a faction may still use that original army in a challenge. Please refer to previous discussion and post Brian.KiwiWarlord wrote: ↑Fri Jul 15, 2022 10:56 amI think you have made an error Warrior230, the Invader Tribal Rebels were conquered by snuggles and are now a Ming Province.warrior230 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 15, 2022 8:24 am The tribal rebels 1595-1700 are invading the Eastern Mongols 16oo-1634.

Hence, Warrior's challenge is validAn interesting thought. That may be a good amendment for the future. As it currently stands you may use any army from your faction list

It's within the rules as they stand. Challenge is valid. The tribal rebels 1595-1700 are invading the Eastern Mongols 16oo-1634.

Yes very good I say Gavin !
Japan has been conquered yet Japanese armies can still pour forth into the Ming, does not seem right.
Re: Sengoku Jidai - 2022 Team Event
Qing Bannnermen invade Western Mongols. I hope this is valid challenge.
Re: Sengoku Jidai - 2022 Team Event
Brian, I haven't heard the result of the invasion of Japan but I understand your point. However, I wanted to keep this one simple to see if the system works. The main idea wasKiwiWarlord wrote: ↑Sat Jul 16, 2022 12:16 amYes very good I say Gavin !

- defending armies had to be from the province to provide variety (and include armies that normally wouldn't see the light of day in a tournament)
- challenging players have free choice to choose their opponent and/or army
- flexible timetable so that a player can opt out of challenges/accepting for a while but still be involved when they have time
Other thoughts include:-
- a fortified province would require an attack and defend game
- terrain is preset for each province
