Roman 280-220 BC attacks Sardinia et Sicilia. +140 FP. Doyley50 as opponent.
Aetius (Romans) defeats Doyley50 (Syracusans) 42-14
Syracusans put up an awful good fight until it all came down near the end. Their units held and avoided cohesion drops for much longer than usual. But the power of the ring...I mean...the power of Rome was too much, and they were ultimately overcome. GG!^^

Round 2
2) Dim30 Roman 280-220BC with Greek (Western) 280-49 BC allies attacks Apulia. +60 FP. Mediterranean Agricultural. deeter as opponent.
dim30 win. 20%/47%
Apulian army arrayed in a very large battle line with strong cavalry wing. The double flanking of the less numerous roman army was a good plan but Apulian center collapse before. Deeter have given a very good fight with Apulian but their infantry was no good enough for romans.

ferocious and fanatics gallic hill tribes broke the roman attack. Fierce fight, legionaries are hard to break and fight to the last, but superiors gallic warriors in big units are redoutables. Score don't reflect the battle difficulty. Thank Aetius.

Changes to rules
Based on my enquiries and your feedback and input, rules will be changed as follows:
- Virtus will irrevocably drop by 1 for all players at the beginning of every five rounds (i.e., rounds 5, 10, 15, etc.).
- Each lost battle reduces the attacker's Virtus by 1 (draws and wins do not reduce Virtus).
- Every three victories increases defender's own Virtus (as Roman player on his own map) by 1.

Round 3 (240-190 BC): Attack declarations
This third round (240 - 190 BC) allows for 1-3 attacks per player upon provinces connected by land or sea to the provinces you already control.
If making more than one attack, you'll divide up your Virtus' FP adjustment evenly between these attacks.
If you decide to select the map terrain of the province attacked (then doing so in the attack declaration), then there's a -40 FP adjustment, and if you leave that to the defender, then you'll get a +40 FP adjustment (in both cases of course only if there's more than one map terrain to choose from for that particular province).
We can all submit our attack declarations at the same time, not needing to wait for each other, in this thread by Sunday (May 15) at the latest.
Any of the other players can be chosen as opponents, but that player can not be chosen again until all other players thereafter have in between been chosen as opponents too.
Also, if possible, please also choose opponents who haven't yet been chosen that round, in order to distribute games evenly among defending players in each round.
Since it's now 240-190 BC, three different Roman armies can be selected in each attack: Roman 199-106 BC, Roman 219-200 BC, and Roman 280-220 BC, since all three are overlapping 240-190 BC. You can, as attacker, select allies available in-game (TT mod) to the Roman army list, the time period (240-190 BC), and the provinces you control. You can select different Roman armies in different attacks, and do thus not need to use the same Roman army in all of your attacks.
A player's attack declarations must be posted in this thread and include the following information:

- The map terrain, if he (as attacker) decides to make that selection.
- The player to be his opponent as defender.
- Example (for round 3, 240 - 190 BC): Roman 199 - 106 BC attacks Lugdunensis. +120 FP. North European Wooded. Aetius39 as opponent.

kronenblatt's attack declarations (3, 240-190 BC)
1. Roman 199-106 BC attacks Narbonensis. +140 FP. Doyley50 as opponent.
2. Roman 199-106 BC attacks Sardinia et Sicilia. +140 FP. deeter as opponent.
Explanatory comments
2. Roman 199-106 BC attacks Sardinia et Sicilia. +140 FP. deeter as opponent.
Explanatory comments
- Since I've now chosen Doyley50 as opponent (my only remaining out of the four), I can now choose freely among all four again (including Doyley50) in this new "round" of opponent selections.
- Having selected deeter in this new 'round', I cannot choose him again until I've chosen all the other three (Doyley50 is from the previous 'round').
- Since I decide to make two attacks (I could have kept it to just one attack, at +200 FP), my FP adjustment of +200 FP is divided into two equal parts, i.e., 200 / 2 = +100 FP for each battle.
- I could have chosen different Roman armies in the two battles (e.g., Roman 280-220 BC in one and Roman 199-106 BC in the other) but decided not to.
- And since I let my opponents choose the map terrain in both battles this time, I get a +40 FP bonus, i.e., +100 + 40 = +140 FP in total.
- Doyley50 and deeter will now select historically appropriate (or at least plausible) army list (no allies) during the years 240 - 190 BC for the respective provinces that they're defending, plus the map terrains (out of the two available for Narbonensis and Sardinia et Sicilia, respectively).

Re: Imperium Romanum - part I: the Rise
If you're just making one attack, then you don't need to split up your Virtus FP, thus getting 200 FP. Plus the 40 FP for letting me choose map terrain will yield you 240 FP.

Please note that Cyrenaica is Mediterranean Agricultural. Plus that width should be 40x32.
