Stockwellpete's War of the Roses Campaign
Pete has created a series of individual battle scenarios intended to be played together as a single campaign. He's also written up a set of rules covering how these tie together. While he originally envisioned this as a two player undertaking, I would like to try to organize a team event to tackle this instead.
Here's my suggestion on how this might be done.
1. Form two teams of at least 3 players to provide some variety in the generalship for both sides from battle to battle. The more players who wish to play, then the more potential commanders for each side, each battle.
2. Each player will initially have 2 numbers on the list for randomizing.
3. Each battle, a randomly generated number will determine which player will lead each side.
4. After each battle, the players who commanded will have one number dropped from the list, reducing their odds of commanding in following ones.
5. Once all the players have commanded 2 battles, the list is reset and the process repeated.
This would ensure no one fights more than 2 battles in a row and every gets to fight an equal number of battles.
Another alternative would be have all the players form on pool, rather than two. This would reflect that nobles fought on both sides during the conflict and provide and even wider mix of opponents.
Any feedback is welcome.
If you're interested in joining such a campaign, please vote whether you would prefer 1 pool or 2, and your preference for sides if the latter.
Regards,
Karvon

Good idea. Probably team separated pool would be my vote, but no strong feelings

I would try out either suggestion. Teams is obviously the conventional route, but the generic pool sounds intriguing. If you wanted to take that a step further or actually back to the teams version, you could have commanding generals or nobles and a pool of players to take command during a battle.

I would be happy to join in with this. Once we get the summer out of the way (mid-September) then maybe we will get a few more players. When the new DLC comes out, I will be adding the later 15thC men-at-arms figures and correcting any reported issues. Then I will probably do a large group PM letting people know it is available. They usually have some effect.

Snugglebunnies is currently working his way through my WOTR scenarios as one-offs (i.e. not playing the campaign) and is putting them up on You Tube. The first one is here . . .

There is also some interesting feedback with each battle as well.

OK, here's our current list of interested participants in order of sign up...

I'm figuring we consider starting up sometime after mid-Oct by which time all TDC related admin stuff should be wrapped up and folks should have had a chance to update to the latest patch and absorb any changes to the rules.
So far, there's been no strong feelings one way or the other about teams vs a single pool; we can revisit and vote on this once we get another player or two and the date draws closer.

Re: Stockwellpete's War of the Roses Campaign
This has not progressed at all so far. Who is available for a team campaign along the lines of Karvon's first post? Or, alternatively, who would like to play a single campaign against me? (You can chose whether you want to be Yorkist or Lancastrian). All scenarios have been recently updated.

I'm still up for this along the lines of what I proposed initially.

I recently had fun playing as the Yorkists against TomoeGozen and would be more than happy to have a bash as the Lancastrians.stockwellpete wrote: ↑Mon Oct 24, 2022 3:44 pm This has not progressed at all so far. Re: Stockwellpete's War of the Roses Campaign
I would be interested. Doyley50 was singing the praises of the campaign to me last month and I found Snuggles YouTube videos very interesting, especially the explanations from Stockwellpete illuminating what he was hoping to achieve in each battle.
No particular preference for either side, after all statisticians calculate that amongst the current generation of the English there is a more than 99% chance that you are related, in some way, to Edward III.

I've sent pm's to those who initially expressed an interest, so hopefully a few more will confirm participation soon.

Re: Stockwellpete's War of the Roses Campaign
Hi, I'm still keen. I'd be up for Karvon's idea. I haven't dabbled with multiplayer campaigns through the game yet, but I'm keen on that too.
I identify as a Yorkist, for no particularly good reason. My preferred pronoun is His Majesty.

Re: Stockwellpete's War of the Roses Campaign
OK, so we have got the following so far . . .
Karvon
Doyley50
edb1815
angusosborne
PeterThePainter
stockwellpete
So that is two teams of three (as per the first part of Karvon's initial suggestion). What I suggest is that we get underway fairly promptly (over the weekend perhaps) and if other players want to join in then we can add them as we go along.
Does everyone have a copy of the 2-player text campaign? If not, send me a PM and will provide you with the link on OneDrive.

Our current list with declared preferences...
angusosborne Yorkist
stockwellpete Yorkist
Doyley50 Lancasterian
Karvon
edb1815
PeterThePainter
If no one declares for one side or the other by the weekend, I suggest Pete randomly divide the undeclared.

Re: Stockwellpete's War of the Roses Campaign
There are just two things to update on the text campaign . . .
1) Mortimer's Cross 1461, players should choose 3 generals each, not 2.
2) Players just choose one army commander each for the Rebellion battles.

Right then, the teams will be . . .
Yorkist
angusosborne
stockwellpete
edb1815
Lancastrian
Karvon
Doyley50
PeterThePainter
I hope these are reasonably balanced. I don't know either angusosborne or PeterThePainter. Has everyone got the text campaign link and all the scenarios downloaded?
I think Karvon can allocate the two players to fight the first battle now - at St Albans 1455.
