Retainers
In any battle if either a CinC is killed in battle and they lose the battle, the tribe surrenders to the winning clan and becomes their retainer and they change their school to the new tribe’s school.
Gavin does this refer only to Retainer's CnCs ?
or to any CnC in any Battle ?
Urgent reply appreciated

Conversely, if a CinC is killed in battle and their army win the battle ....they do not become the other players retainer.
I hope this makes it clear.

Sengge Choros ( KiwiWarlord ) marches from Tian Shan Province and invades Norbu Zangpo's ( Gort7078 ) Home Province of Panipat. After a frantic search for 5 units of their army the becalmed Tibetans were being shot to pieces until the missing Tibetans arrived ( move 6 or 7 ) they then sprang into action but far too late and suffered a crushing Defeat.
Sengge Choros ( KiwiWarlord ) 0 % Norbu Zangpo ( Gort7078 ) 45 %
The forces of both sides are regrouping for the assault on the Fortress.

The Prince of Tsang (GDod) lays claim to the province of Tian Shan, which is being held illegally by Sengge Choros (KiwiWarlord), the Mongolian Prince of the Dzungar.

Re: Tibetan Turmoil
After playing a few of these I put forward the suggestion the the Challenger sets up the battle for the Province as it is an open Battle.GDod wrote: ↑Mon Feb 13, 2023 7:22 am Attacking a Home Province (a two phase battle process)If the defender loses then the siege of the fortress begins
- First phase is an open battle, large armies, wide map, agricultural
- This is an open battle (forts are pointless), small armies, narrow map, hilly terrain
The Fortress Defender sets up the Challenge for the Fortress Assault as this will let the Attacker move his troops first.
I have tried all sorts of manipulation of the Game Setup but cannot get Player 1, who sets up the game, to move first.
As we have dropped the Attack/Defend setup ( and rightly so ) giving the attacking player the first move in the game seems right.

That's a shame Brian...not change to allegiances then, though 12% was very close!KiwiWarlord wrote: ↑Sun Feb 19, 2023 7:27 am Just found my average dice and set up my dice tower on a gaming table

Challenge Posted for Panipat , Home Province of Norbu Zangpo ( Gort 7078 )
Sengge Choros ( KiwiWarlord ) marches from Tian Shan Province and invades Norbu Zangpo's ( Gort7078 ) Home Province of Panipat. After a frantic search for 5 units of their army the becalmed Tibetans were being shot to pieces until the missing Tibetans arrived ( move 6 or 7 ) they then sprang into action but far too late and suffered a crushing Defeat.
The forces of both sides are regrouping for the assault on the Fortress.
Fortress Captured
Sengge Choros ( KiwiWarlord ) 0 % Norbu Zangpo ( Gort7078 ) 48 %
Norbu Zangpo is now a welcome Retainer of Sengge Choros
