Forged in Battle Team Challenge - 7th & 8th October

Post by petedalby »

The first weekend in October will see Sarisbury Green host the 5th Forged in Battle Team Challenge. We have capacity for a maximum of 10 teams of 3 players. Priority will be given to those who have attended previously but new players are also welcome.

We ended up with an uneven number of teams last year which I felt unbalanced the draw. The event will run with an even number of teams.

The themes are similar but slightly different to last year.

Venue details are here: http://www.sarisburygreen.org.uk

We are close to Southampton Airport for those coming from further afield and may be able to arrange lifts to and from the airport.

As before this will be a 3-player Team event, 1 player in each pool. Please email Pete Dalby at peterdalby1960@gmail.com if you wish to attend by the 31st August.

Rules to be used are V3.1. Figure Scale 15mm Specific Period/Theme options & restrictions are as follows:

Pool 1 Sticks and Stones Plus – 850AP Table Size 60” x 40”

Any list, any date but the following troop types are not permitted – any Heavy Armour, Pikes or Lances. A list may include up to 1 Armoured BG and up to 2 BGs of Elephants. Any list where more than these are mandatory may not be used.

Pool 2 Horsey Horsey – 900AP Table Size 72” x 48”

Any list, any date but armies must field at least 450 AP of Chariots, Cavalry or Camelry Bow or XB. NB – LH are not Cavalry. Cataphracts are not cavalry either. Please note that Bow* no longer count towards the 450 AP total for Bow or XB.

Pool 3 Medieval – 950 AP Table Size 72” x 48”

Any list, post 1040 AD.

Army Lists must come from the new Books. Where your army of choice no longer appears in the new books we will accept old lists on a case by case basis.

We will offer 3 games on Saturday and 2 on Sunday. All games to be 3 hours.

Team Entry is £75 per team or £25 per individual.

Please contact Pete Dalby at peterdalby1960@gmail.com for information on how to pay or you can pay me when you next see me.

Hope to see you there.

Regards
Pete

My apologies Dave. I see that in Terry's latest update that Light Camelry are now classed as skirmishers the same as LH.

So the answer is 'No' Light Camelry are not Cavalry for the purposes of Pool 2.

European All Stars
Sounds like a ladies gymnastics troupe.

I'm sure it won't look like one

We are just waiting for 1 list to be corrected before the R&R can be published.

The first round draw is:

European All Stars vs Oxford
Oxbridge vs Solent
Gloucester vs Surrey Spartans
MAWS vs Mercenaries
Wessex vs Plymouth

Just a reminder that I will be providing the dice. You will not need to bring your own.
