I'd like to give it a try, pomakli :)

However, when I click on the link it takes me to my (newly-created) Dropbox homepage, not yours.  I'm a Dropbox noob so it could well be something I'm doing (or not doing).

Out of interest, does your scenario just consist of a modified map file, or does it also include any of the script files as well?  Just wondering if you altered any of the units' behaviour, or if they will just have the default behaviour?  The reason I ask is that I might try my hand at writing a scenario too, and am wondering if the default behaviour is good enough for a fun first attempt (I saw a post elsewhere where someone kind of implied that the enemy units didn't do anything when they created a scenario).

Hope you don't mind all the questions - I'm new to all this but very excited by the possibilities and keen to learn as much as poss! :)

Regards
Carl

Try again!

Thanks for your warning; i chanced it, so that it now (hopefully!) works!

I modified nothing!

I played first myself and the AI units reacted and acted, like mortar fire a.s.o.

It's my pleasure to answer your questions!

Hmmm, still can't seem to access it.

I've just had a look around Dropbox and to share a file it says one needs to upload it to one's Public folder, right-click on the file and then click 'Copy Public Link'.  It then provides a link in the format http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9959636/New%20T ... cument.txt (this is a test file I've just created in my own Public folder).

Is that what you did, or did you just create a new folder?  I've just read that you can't link to folders, unless you share it (in which case one needs to enter the e-mail address of the people one wishes to share it with).  :p

Carl

I would suggest zipping and uploading the entire campaign that you created for the map. That way people can just unzip into their My Documents\My Games\BBCBA\Campaigns folder and play.

The modding portal suggests naming the folder with your username first, so as to make it easy to differentiate different campaigns.

Cheers

Pip

campaign?

"entire campaign"?

Sorry but it's only a test with 1 scenario!

"username" ?

pomaklicampaigns?

But the scenario must live inside a campaign directory? It may only have 2 files in it, but currently it requires users to create a campaign folder and then a scenario folder inside it, then copy in the files, etc.

Just an idea to make it super-simplle for people :)

Cheers

I've tested your scenario. It's a beginning, and it's fun. :) Advancing and cleanning the strong positions....too firepower for the brits.

Just one thing...I've had to add these two lines to the text1 archive in order to play the scenario :

IDS_SCENARIO_defend the line!, "Defend the line",
IDS_SCENARIO_DESC_defend the line!,"Just Survive",

Good work!!

PUHHH!

PUUUHH!

Are you sure, that you played my scenario!

While creating it, I wasn't sure, if the firepower will be enough!

Should I delete 25 pdr. or Bishops?

Your suggestion please?

DONE!

Have just installed it and fired it up, and the tanks are rolling! Will finish playing it later, but I'm impressed already just with the whole process of creating custom scenarios and making them available to others :)

Can't wait to have a go at creating one myself now... ;-)

Play and..

Maybe the 25pdr. and the external aids (artillery, medic,...). This would make you advance more carefully  .

If you want to play my scenario and edit or modify it if you like, here is the link : http://www.megaupload.com/?d=H39U9V31
Just unzip it into the campaigns folder.

I think you should include a few screenshots when posting a custom scenario - it'll attract more people :)

OK!

Hi ostwind - I downloaded, installed and fired up your scenario all fine. The map looks great - must've taken you a fair bit of time to construct the maze of streets. And with Victory Points too :)

Just need to find time to play it now :p

I've started to build a map myself, but it's large (64x64), with hills, rivers, farms, fields etc. I could be at it for some time :p

Hehe - just played your scenario, ostwind - it was a lot of fun. There I was, confidently hopping from house to house, easily tore up the Germans first assault by 2-3 squads, thinking I'd got the measure of them, when some of the cheeky blighters appeared right in my rear, just a couple of roads from my base! Rushed some of my boys back, which exposed them to a second sally of the Germans - they got tore up, and it was touch and go for a moment, but just managed to concentrate enough forces in time to repulse them! That finished the Germans off and a we took their base a few turns later.

Nice work :)
